Chapter Thirty Summertime was winding down in Louisiana. The dense fog cut visibility by nearly half as Cogent drove down the highway to Chinchuba. By the time Cogent reached the causeway, the hazy mist was nearly impenetrable. Cogent maneuvered the old car slowly through the murky haze. The trip to Chinchuba was going to take longer than Cogent had thought. He was driving at a snail's pace and couldn't see a thing. Cogent was impatient, and the ordeal was making him very anxious. He removed one hand from the steering wheel and loosened his shirt collar. Cogent's knuckles were white from gripping the wheel so hard.
