Chapter Thirty-Nine One week had gone by. It was September 13th, the day of Jon Overman's trial. Jury selection was about to begin. The courthouse was full of people. Sheriff Lee was sweating bullets as he made his way into the courthouse. His face was a dark shade of brick red. Reporters bombarded the Sheriff with questions as he walked up the concrete steps to the courthouse. “Is it true that you took funds from Overman for your campaign, Sheriff?” one reporter fired the piercing question at the Sheriff.
