"So, you are the Smith heiress, huh? Interesting." he said, mockingly. He was holding a glass of wine now. I rolled my eyes. "Mr. Wry Raiven." I smirk. "Finally, you've gotten to know me." I teased him. He immediately wiped away the blood on his lip caused by my punch. He smirked, and looked at me with admiration. "I must say, you are really good at this." he praised me. He took a sip on his wine while still looking at me. I crossed my arms. I know he wouldn't lay his hands on me. So, I hurriedly walked towards him, and snatched the wine he was drinking. I drank it, then stared sharply into her eyes. I put down the wine glass, and then quickly grabbed the knife from my skirt pocket. "Die, Raiven." I said coldly while pointing the knife at his chin. He was taken aback, then laughed a moment later when he realized that I am pointing a knife to him. He isn't taking his eyes off me. "Is that your way to tell me you love me?" he teases me even more. "Then, I love you more, Sydney. So, tell me. What is this all about?" he asked. I stayed silent. I and Wry are dating for almost 1 year now. And this is all part of the plan. I never loved him. I will never love him. And I am so st*pid that it took me a year to have a courage to pull out my knife and pointed it at him. "I never loved you, Wry." I said, then removed the knife from under her chin. "I know." he said it with a smile, but it was a bitter one. I couldn't tell if he was hurting or what. "But, I love you." he added. "I knew it. I always knew, Sydney." I looked away, and started walking away. I sat on his sofa. "I know what you did to my father." My vision went blank when I turned to look at him again. He froze. "W-What do you mean?" I smirked when I saw the look of bewilderment in his eyes. He was feigning ignorance. "Stop the pretense, Wry. I know you know what you did." I said angrily. He laughed. "Stop this nonsense, Sydney. You know I never met your father." he said in disbelief. "Liar." I yelled at him. I know he is the one who killed my father. He killed Daddy out of envy, knowing that if Caleb and I proceeded with the wedding, we would become a poison to their company. Many people wanted to invest in our company once they learned that the Smith and Ford families were joining forces. He walked towards me, and sat in front of me. "I will never lie to you, babe. I will never." he whispered it right in my ears. A sweet lies. I pulled out the knife again, and pointed it right into his chest. "You know I can kill you right here, right f*cking now!" I yelled. But instead of seeing fear in his facial expression, I only saw pity, sadness and disappointment. "I know you can't." he said confidently. I laughed. "Don't act like you know me." I said. "Maybe you just need some rest, babe. Let's talk about it some other time. I'll go now." he said seriously and kissed my forehead. He stood up as if there were no knives pointed at his chest—without a trace of fear or nervousness. "Take another step, Raiven if you want to feel this knife buried in your back." I threatened him. He stopped. He slowly turned to look at me. There are still no signs of fear or apprehension. "Come on, Sydney. Kill me." he said, seriously. "Don't test me." I said boastfully. "Then, go ahead." he said, raising both hands as if surrendering to me. "Having a scene like this now with you, kills me already." looks like he wanted to cry. I stared at him in disbelief. Why does it seem like he doesn't care about his life? "What? You can't do it?" he asked, laughing. "Shut up!" I said in frustration. He let out a loud sigh, and sat on his office table. That's not too far from me. He is now staring at me, blankly. "Why are you doing this?" he boredomly asked. "You're good at pretending, huh?" I said out of laughing. I walked towards him, slowly. I walked around his desk, trailing my fingers along its surface. Upon reaching him, I cupped his chin and kissed him deeply. I only stopped when I was satisfied. I pointed the knife at his throat again, then slowly pressed it in. Sadly, I know I will miss kissing his lips. "I will never love someone who killed my father." [This is a work of fiction.
