We are making our way back to Silver Shadow at record speed. I told Jackson and Jason to go ahead, but they refused to leave my side. Nobody is saying it out loud, but I know the reason why they are staying close. My name is on that list … for five million. I have no idea why I am worth so much more and believe me, this is not the type of list you want to be on top of.
I do not know if Everett or one of the J’s mind-linked the ranks, but my family are all on the steps waiting for us.
“What happened?” Mother rushes to me, worry written all over her face.
“We need to talk,” I answer softly not to create panic.
“Js,” I turn to my cousins. “Go start packing, I’ll get them up to speed.”
They nod and dash off to their rooms.
