CHAPTER 4: ELIMINATION
Gu Liuxing inclined his head, opened her eyes, and witnessed the individual leaning slightly to support her.
This is the most attractive man she has ever encountered since her upbringing.
Trim and orderly short hair, celestial eyes and luminous eyebrows, straight nose structure, slender lip line, every aspect of the facial features is as flawless as a master's meticulously crafted, to the utmost.
Above his head, a pristine and transparent glass curtain wall slanted. The morning sun was just starting to emerge, and the golden sunlight radiated obliquely on his physique through the curtain wall, enveloping his handsome and indifferent profile with a warm yellow halo.
It elevated his already commanding aura, making him appear even more godlike presently, causing people to hesitate to gaze directly at him.
“Watch out!”
Slightly raspy smoke voice, deep and magnetic, even in the absence of expression on his face, it can accelerate people's heartbeats.
“Boss Sang, it's Boss Sang!” Someone exclaimed.
“Wow, so attractive!”
“Oh my goodness! I'm going to be captivated by his attractiveness!”
…
Gu Liuxing swallowed her saliva amid the chorus of admiration voices, fortunately too preoccupied yesterday to thoroughly discern his appearance. Otherwise, failing to resist the allure of this blooming beauty and impulsively pouncing on it would render all her prior efforts futile.
She hastily straightened up, retreated two steps, bent slightly, lowered her head, and subdued her racing heartbeat. “Mr. President, good morning! Thank you, Mr. President, for aiding me!”
Her clear voice overpowered the commotion in the room, and upon looking up again, she smiled, revealing eight pristine white teeth and two faint dimples.
Ruby lips and ivory teeth, distinct eyebrows, especially those eyes that seem to harbor two crystalline springs, so limpid they remain untainted by anything.
The warmth and tenderness in the palm vanished; Sang Chenyan subtly furrowed his brow and immediately directed his frigid gaze at the lobby manager standing nearby.
“What happened?” The voice was icy, sending shivers down the spine.
The Leng Group maintains strict discipline, and a brawl early in the morning constitutes negligence of duty.
The lobby manager, trembling with fear, stepped forward and recounted the incident, “This lady observed that Chairman Leng's portrait was crafted by Mr. Leng Jun, and these two ladies were less skilled, so she simply shoved her aside. It happened suddenly, and we didn't have an opportunity to intervene.”
These words served to corroborate Gu Liuxing's account.
“Did you hear that?” Gu Liuxing glared at the three individuals pretending to comprehend, raising her head proudly.
Those three people, arrogant just moments ago, were now either stunned by Sang Chenyan's flourishing beauty or ensnared by the superior coercion upon him. They huddled together, not uttering a single word.
Sang Chenyan remained silent, not even sparing a glance at the trio. Calmly retracting his gaze, he turned and departed nonchalantly.
“Ah? Is it over already?” Gu Liuxing stared blankly at his departing figure, attempting to chase after him but restrained by a slender white hand.
“Miss Gu, exercise caution and remain composed.” Jin Li smiled at her, nodded, then turned to the lobby manager. “Today, all lobby staff will have their annual safety bonus deducted. All interviewees will be promptly escorted out.”
“Huh? We haven't interviewed yet, so why are we being eliminated?”
Observing elegantly dressed girls escorted out by security before comprehending the situation, Gu Liuxing panicked as well.
She retrieved the black and gold-stamped business card from her bag, silently repeating to herself, “I'm not here for the interview, I'm here for the job. I'm not here for the interview, I'm here for the job…"
“Miss Gu, I'll guide you to apply for employment, please!” As Gu Liuxing self-brainwashed for the tenth time, the bustling scene in the hall was cleared.
Jin Li glanced at her, maintaining a faint smile. “I forgot to introduce myself; my name is Jin Li, and I'm President Sang's special assistant.”
Gu Liuxing was familiar with this name.
Legend has it that Jin Li is a confidante of the cold-faced deity, capable of accurately discerning the deity's thoughts with just one look. A stern countenance and taciturn demeanor make her the epitome of an official spokesperson.
Gu Liuxing had always presumed her to be an experienced, strong woman in her thirties or forties, but to her surprise, she was a young lady in her mid-twenties, smiling and affable.
She quickly offered a sweet smile. “Hello, Sister Jin. May I ask how you knew my name on our first meeting?”
“Mr. Sang returned to the company yesterday and has already informed me.” Jin Li responded promptly, her expression composed.
“Huh?” Gu Liuxing was perplexed.
She recalled not divulging her name to Sang Chenyan yesterday. Did he instruct someone to investigate after the car accident? If so, why would he encourage her to apply for the job?
Is he attempting to settle scores or combine old and new accounts?
Resisting the urge to flee, Gu Liuxing awkwardly inquired, “Then, how did your esteemed president find out?”
“For that, Ms. Gu needs to ask Mr. Sang herself to find out.”
