Welcome To The Foundation

Danzo led them to a room where a older boy and girl waited. They bowed. “Lord Danzo, you requested our presence?” “Yes,” He answered. “These two need to be introduced to the others and taught the rules. “Yes, Lord Danzo.” Danzo got down on one knee in front of Tenzo and Ani. “Young man, I’m afraid you won’t be seeing your friend for a while.” Ani gripped Tenzo’s hand tighter when she heard this. Tenzo flinched. Danzo nodded and the older children each went to grab for them. Ani refused to let go of Tenzo’s hand. “That’s enough.” Danzo bellowed. He grabbed their hands and forced them apart. Tenzo saw Ani’s hair flash red as the boy began to drag him away from her. Danzo still held her hand, Ani bit him hard. Danzo responded by striking her. The older girl remained silent. “Take her,” He ordered the girl. “Yes, Lord Danzo.” Danzo hissed, she had bit him hard enough to break the skin, and possibly need stitches. He would need to watch that one. She certainly had the temper of an Uzamaki.

Tenzo was led to a room that was full of bunks. There were at least ten boys staying in the room. The older boy led him to a bottom bunk where another boy was sitting. “Canus, you’ve been promoted to the top bunk.” Canus glared at Tenzo. “Fine.” He said as he moved to the top bunk. “I’m Lin,” the older boy says, “I’m the squad leader for this room.” Tenzo nodded. “Everyone, this is Tenzo. Lord Danzo brought him in today.” The other boys all said hi or simply waved at him. “We’ll be having lunch in about an hour,” Lin handed Tenzo a uniform. “Change into this. Then follow the boys when its time to go.” Tenzo nodded again. “Where’s Ani?” He asked quietly. Lin shook his head. “She was put in another part of the compound with the girls. They go through different training than we do at first.” “Will I get to see her again?” Some of the boys snickered. “That’s enough,” Lin yelled. “Look, Tenzo, right?” Tenzo nodded. “We won’t see the girls for a long time. We all go through training intense training. Lord Danzo doesn’t mess around. And if I were you, id forget about her.” “Why?” Tenzo asked. “Because, if he sees that you care about her, he’ll make you regret it.” Tenzo looked at the floor. Lin put his hand on his shoulder. “Look, we are here to train to become the best the Foundation has to offer. Focus on your studies, train hard, and get stronger. By the time you see you’re friend again, she’ll try to kill you.” Tenzo froze. “That’s why we’re here. We work for Lord Danzo. You’ll catch on.”

Ani found herself in a room with other girls. Most of them older than her. The girl that brought her there, showed her her bed and gave her a uniform. She missed Tenzo. She sniffled. “Stop that.” The older girl ordered. Ani stopped. “I’m Uri. What’s your name?” “Ani,” “Well Ani, first rule is, you’re not allowed to use your jutsu without Lord Danzo’s permission.” “Jutsu?” Uri rolled her eyes. “Your hair. You need to leave it its normal color. Lord Danzo will punish you if you continue to use it.” Ani nodded. The other girls gasped and whispered as Ani’s hair went from brunette to a bright red. Uri shook her head with a sad look. “Lord Danzo will certainly single you out.” Ani looked at the floor. “The fact that you bit him only makes it worse. You’ll be the one he makes an example of.” Ani didn’t understand. “Change into this, we’ll be going to dinner soon.” Ani nodded.

Time seemed to pass quickly for Ani, once she had gotten into her studies, she found herself at the top of her class. Her jutsu were numerous. Mostly healing jutsu. She found she could heal herself as well as those around her. Both thoroughly and efficiently. Her long red hair making her stand out. Her hair, she learned could be used as a weapon. She was able to disarm opponents from great distances and if need be, she found that she had lethal moves as well. She could wrap her hair around an opponent and easily decapitate them. Any other body part she chose. But much to Danzo’s disappointment, she was more eager to heal that to kill an opponent. She also had a knack for sealing jutsu. Danzo had indeed singled her out on a few occasions. And at the age of ten, she finally had managed to turn his anger in her direction when she was caught hiding her hair color again. Danzo had sealed her chakra for a week after that. When Ani refused to comply with his orders then, he had resorted to corporal punishment. He watched as one of his men used a whip and struck her ten times with full force. Ani didn’t cry, she grit her teeth only yelled out once or twice. This angered Danzo even more. Uri had to doctor up her wounds until Danzo finally released her chakra. Then the wounds healed. There were never any scars. She still thought about Tenzo, worried about him and how he was doing. Uri would warn her, that this was dangerous should Lord Danzo catch on. Ani didn’t care. She felt a connection to him she couldn’t explain.

Tenzo had gotten stronger in his time there. Lord Danzo had worked with him personally when he realized that Tenzo had an affinity for wood jutsu. Like Ani, he excelled in his work and his fighting skills among his comrades was admirable. He was admired by many of the boys he worked with. He had gained Lord Danzo’s approval on many occasions. But when he would lie in bed at night, his thoughts would return to Ani. The day they were separated would replay in his mind when he slept. He knew she was okay. She was strong and could certainly take care of herself. He saw that the first day they had met at the orphanage. He smiled to himself as he remembered touching her soft hair and it turned red at the touch. He had heard about Ani from the other members of the Foundation. How her skills were amazing. How she had been punished for using her jutsu to hide her hair. His hands balled into familiar fists when he heard this from the older boys. Lord Danzo had punished her severely. Ten lashes with a whip and then blocking her chakra so that she wouldn’t heal from it so easily. Leaving her to suffer so that the lesson would be better learned and burned into her memory.
