Alora is a girl with a dream. She is passionate about the things she does, she is determined and focused and, yeah, she is pretty. She is a girl that just want to be like her mom. Alora saw her mom as her role model. She was close to her mom and would always advise her mom to leave her dad, as to her the relationship was a toxic type. She saw her mom losing herself for a man who never cared. Little did she know that there was more to her mom's love story than what she knew.
Alora's name meaning was:
'The lord is my light' or 'a beautiful dream'.
Yes, Alora is an African name. In the story it is said that Alora's mom, Mrs. Gloria Henderson was an African woman who moved to New York to pursue her dreams and met Mr. Henderson and their love story began. Mrs. Gloria had always told Alora the reason behind her name "Alora", saying that on the day of delivery she had, had a beautiful dream of the baby she was going to have. That the dream was unexplainable, it was beautiful, extraordinary, that in the dream she saw a light that shined upon her baby and she felt, wow, this baby is special and beautiful name like "Alora" was meant for a special girl like her, telling her that, whenever she feels she doesn't know where to head or go, she should always remember that her name Alora would find her a way out because it would always speak for itself.
Mrs. Gloria was well cultured, even though she had been in New York for a long time she never forgot her culture and always taught Alora about African cultures. She made Alora dream of going there, being there and experiencing there, but some things needed to be focused on more.
Alora would always wonder how her mom was able to live with the pain her dad, Mr. Henderson had always inflicted on her. but whenever she talked about it to her mom, her mom would say my princess it all love you won't understand as the matter doesn't seem the way it looks. Alora would protest by saying "But mom, dad doesn't even care about you the way he does before. He is always traveling and when he is around you guys are always arguing or quarreling about one thing or the other he is home, but it always feels like he is not. it feels like he has more important things to do than being with us". But her mom would always support him.
Things took a drastic step as her dad and mom had a fight that made him push her down the balcony of their house. Alora had been home that day and she witnessed everything which made her hate her father and got him arrested. But sadly, she lost three things that day her mom, her faith in love, and her dad which she decleared dead to her. This was a wound to Alora that could never be healed no matter how hard anyone try to heal it which made her lost faith in love and vowed never to fall in love or even become a fool for love just like her mom was. But things began to change has Alora met Henry and right there their own love story began

Henry is a guy who believes in love although had been hurt in love but he had experienced and felt the good part of love he explains love like he formed it cuz he understood it. Henry was ready to take risk for the ones whom he loved. After Henry's last breakup he thought finding love would be hard but when he sets his eyes on Alora he realized that love found him. Henry is very hard working, ambitious and determined. In the novel it was said that Alora had rejected him from being friends with her countless time but he kept on trying as he was following his heart. To Henry love was felt and understood n can't be spoken of cuz it always unexplainable of how it happened when it happened and what happens afterwards.
Henry was handsome no doubt about that, he was also known to be charming, he had always listened to his heart and followed it.
He was ready to pursue Alora till she was able to accept his proposal and was also ready to make her understand what love was all about not minding how long it would take.

Henry's mom Mrs. Dorcas and her friend Mrs. Fletcher thought joining Alora and Henry would help Alora get over her past and help her move on and enjoy her youth age instead of trying to grow faster than her age has Henry was the opposite of Alora. He loved fun and adventures but Alora quit the opposite of him. With that thought, they ask Alora and Henry to accompany them on a vacation to give themselves break from work, school and so on. To them it was a way of getting Alora to agree to go and also a way of her making realized the importance of relationships, adventures, and youth age funs that she was missing out on, all in the name of building her future from now. To Alora staying away from all this was a way of her to stop thinking of the past.
When they went on the vacation, things began to change and became dramatic the trip drew Henry and Alora closer. They both start to become friends before you knew it they start to share their past with one another. But even with all this would Alora be able to forget what had happened and move on or would the past keep on hunting her.
Even with all the challenges, they had gone through Henry was always there for Alora, there to help her support her, and also to make her understand and feel what love was all about.
