LUCIEN’S POV For some reason, my hands wouldn’t stop shaking. I curled them into a fist, in an attempt to stop them from quivering, but somehow that only made it worse. Kellen and I were walking to the principal’s office and each step I took made my legs feel like bricks were tied to them. The atmosphere was thick, making it hard to breathe. The walk to the principal’s office wasn’t usually long, but now, it felt like we had been walking for hours. Our loud footsteps announced to the surrounding students our presence, and they stared at us while we walked, mocking and jeering as we went by.
