Two Days Later
My phone rang. Big sis Angie." "Your phone is ringing." Isabel said, running upstairs into my room with the phone in her hand. I collected it from her. It was Janelle. "Hello?" I saluted on the phone. "Hi baby," came the response. "How do you do?" She asked at the other end. "I'm pushing through." was my reply. Janelle traveled with the family after she went on a date with Davin, her crush.
He has been missing her ever since and I know how it feels especially losing two special people who are very important to our lives. "Baby, are you sure you're really okay?" she asked again. I couldn't lie again to her. I had to tell her the truth about what was really going on. Of recent the house was taken away from us by my parents' close friends.
They really shattered our lives. I was left with a little money I hid away when our house was being searched. I'm sure my parents in their graves would be really disappointed. Things have been very tough that I felt like I should take my life. I narrated the ordeal to her and she was very touched and assured me of getting help for me. All I needed was fair justice. That was what I needed for now. I thanked her and we hung up. Janelle was indeed a true friend that is very hard or rare to find. Two weeks later, Janelle sent some money to me telling me that her parents were the ones who sent the money for my new apartment and feeding. I was very glad. I didn't know the kind of expression I should use. I was overwhelmed with the mixture of happiness and sadness. Isabel was glad too. Now there was enough money to rent an apartment and also to buy some foodstuff and pay off some bills at Isabel's school, especially at her tuition fee. Till now, I still miss Janelle because she's the only one that understands my pains and my happiness. How I wish her father can be transferred back here in the Philippines.

Monday Morning
I dropped Isabel off at school. I had already booked an appointment with a housing agent. I was going to get a new apartment today. I got to school, entered into the class and met my empty seat awaiting me as usual. I sat down and buried my head in my locker. Classes haven't commenced yet and so I try to use the opportunity of relieving the tension that had been stirred up in my body.
I felt the hand on my shoulder. I raised up my head as quick as possible. It was Ms. Ashur. I took a deep sigh. "Good morning, ma'am," I greeted. She nodded and asked some few questions of how I've been feeling lately. Then she handed a brown envelope to me. I was surprised and shocked at the same time. Miss Ashur has been more than a teacher to me.
I caught two blue eyes staring at me. Jackson was staring at me so bad that I had to move my gaze away from him. I wondered why on earth he would be staring at a girl like me who wasn't up to his standard anymore. I understand that you were evicted out of your own house, but so could family friends who got nothing but greed. It's such a pity. They will pay heavily in life for this.
if you need anything just come to me i'll be ever ready to help you okay. She remarked. I was in tears already and all i could manage to say was "thank you Miss Ashur."

Break time
Everyone rushed out for a break except me. I was so depressed that I didn't notice it was break already. I had my head on my locker, thinking about everything when I felt the presence close to me. I raised my head slowly and got the shock of my life. I could hear my head and thought screaming the name "Alex Jackson!" I tried putting my head down again but he spoke up. "I know you're hungry, so I got you lunch," he said, showcasing the package with a smile. All my life at school, I've never seen him smile. He's always wearing a cold face, but this smile I will never forget because he was awesomely cute that I felt like kissing him. Moreover, I was surprised he could talk to me, for he only talked with his friends, Oliver, Harry, Mark, and no one else.
"Thank you," I managed to say. "If you need something, don't forget to call me," he said before leaving, after giving me a pat. I sighed. I can't believe that my secret crush actually cares about me. I must tell Janelle. I opened the package and OMG, right in the package was pizza, fried noodles with turkey, a fried one to say, milkshakes, fruit salad with richly prepared rice cakes. I was amazed. I had wanted to try one of these mouthwatering foods, but I couldn't because I lacked appetite. But anyways, I still managed to take some and kept the rest for Isabel. I heard the bell ringing outside. It was time for another lecture of the day, signaling break over. All students walked into their classes, making hell of noises. I saw Jackson walking in with his friends. I wanted to talk to him, but I decided to maintain my cool, especially as he's back again with his cold face. After so many hours of lectures, we were free to go home for the close of the day.
I rushed out of the class with my bag, still remembering the envelope Miss Ashur gave to me. I rushed to the main road so I could pick up a taxi when a car suddenly halted in front of me. It was a black Mercedes and I was wondering who owned it when the windscreen of the car went down. Then I saw the occupant, no other person but Jackson, my secret crush, whom I have been eyeing for years now.
"Going somewhere?" he asked. "No thanks," I replied sharply. "You look like you're in a hurry, so hop in," he pressed hard. I knew for real I was in a hurry, but I was scared of sitting next to him, but I reluctantly entered. We drove silently until I broke the silence, timidly. "Thanks for the lunch," I said timidly, now almost shivering without knowing why. He just nodded, still wearing his cold face. "Well," I continued so scared of the silence. I
If you don't mind always laugh and smile because it looks very good on you I said not feeling sure of what will happen next. I saw two eyes staring at me like hell. He stopped the car. I felt that I had gotten into trouble. It's not what you think sir i protested. I.... was.... I ...was...
.... only trying to advise you. he cut in finishing up my statement.
He stared deeply into my eyes, his blue cold eyes with steady gaze on mine. I shifted uncomfortably. "I-I have to stop here. Sorry about what I said." I apologized. He just kept on staring like he was a statue. I got down, breathed a sigh of relief, and got a taxi to my destination. I called the agent, and he showed me the apartment. It was really nice, so I bought it.
It's just, at this stage, I understood why it is good to save or keep money. I got home and prepared dinner, told Isabel about everything and all that escaped from her mouth were "Wow, aha, oh my God, it's so sweet!" She's really naughty sometimes. Even at her tender age, she understands almost everything in a mature way. We opened the envelope given to me by Ms. Ashur, and to my greater surprise, the content of the envelope worth $26,000. I couldn't cry for I was speechless. Isabel, on the other hand, was not exempted. She was so grateful to Miss Ashur's kind move. We later went to have lunch, which was also served as dinner.
