EPISODE 1
Angela! Mrs. Wilson called out.
"A minute, mummy," came the reply. Mrs. Wilson was preparing for her trip to Canada with her husband, Mr. Marcus Wilson. Her friends sometimes call her Debbie Cash, but her name is Mrs. Debby Wilson. They own a big gigantic castle as their home. The walls of the castle was adorned with sparkling, glittering golden tiles, and the roofing was that of silver.
Flowers were planted all over the compound. Flowers like white rose, red rose, tulips, hibiscus and the fence was painted white. They have a driver and his name is Sammy. Angela rushed down the stairs and stopped abruptly like as if in a trance. "Mother?" she called slowly. "Don't tell me that you and dad will be going off to Canada today?" she said.
she said with an unsure voice. "Yes, baby, we are leaving, so stop looking like you're dreaming. It's just for business, and in one week we'll be back in the Philippines." "But, mom, I don't think it's a good idea to leave today. Why not make it during the weekend or maybe a month?" I insisted.
"No baby, it's not gonna be possible because it's a huge contract and when we get it, we're gonna enjoy because you and Isabel are gonna get the best." "Hmm
Debbie, aren't you ready?! We're getting late." Dad called from outside. "I'm coming already and would you just stand here and stare at nothing?" My mom called out, bringing me back to reality out of fantasy.
"Hmm, let me help with the luggage," I shrugged. "Mommy, mommy, are you leaving now?" Isabel asked, rushing down the stairs. "I bet she just woke up because when I went to her room she was fast asleep." "Mommy," she called as she got to where we were and stopped. Then she rubbed her eyes and turned around, looking at the luggage. "You're.... traveling?" she asked as she'd chosen her words carefully.
"Yes, my little angel. I and daddy are going on a business trip to Canada." "Mmm." She shook her head. "And will you be back today?" She asked again. "No, angel. That would be next week." "Mmm. I assume it's a long trip," she said, helping herself with some chocolates.
Isabel, my younger sister, is a weird kid. Very inquisitive and sometimes naughty. But inspite of all this, I love her dearly. Daddy pressed the doorbell again and then mommy realized that she's been keeping dad waiting. I followed suit while Isabel came trailing out of black. I was holding the luggages and we stopped outside. What's taking you long? Dad queried.
"I'm sorry dear, I was just doing what a mother ought to do. Please forgive me," Mom pleaded. "I guess I have to take that one," Dad said with a shrug. "Thanks, Papa," Isabel said. "But are you going to leave us alone in this place?" "Look, baby, we will be back soon, my angel," Daddy said to Isabel. Isabel has always been Dad's favorite, and for me, and as for me, I would always be Momma's pride.
I watched as daddy lifted her up into the air and brought her down to the earth (ground). And he gave me a smile, which I returned. Then he moved closer to me and gave me a peck on my forehead for he could see the fear of loneliness, agony and terror filled in my eyes. Then he patted my back and said we would be back soon. I nodded, I nodded.
Mommy moved closer to the both of us and gave us her charming smile with a peck. Be good girls, okay? We nodded our heads. Then she went down to the car and opened the door. As she was about to enter, I called her attention. Yes, sweetie. What do you want? She asked me. Well, it's not a hard thing. Can I ring Janelle to come over? I asked. Mommy stared at us and Isabel nodded.
I always loved my sister for that. She cooperated very well with me. Mommy gave us a final look and said, you may ring her. And my joy knew no bounds. Then Isabel said, I'm gonna call Boom Baby. Then I squeezed my face like a filtered juice. Hey, Boom Baby, not in this house.
Alright girls, that's enough. Call your friend Isabel Boom Baby or whatever. All I want is that I want to see this house in good shape and condition. Bye girls, she added. Bye mom, we chorused and the car zoomed out of the gate.
BACK IN THE HOUSE.
I and Isabel walked in. Then she called me. "Big sis Angie?" "Yes, my little medel." I responded. She calls me like that sometimes, and I sometimes call her little medell. I looked at her small round face. "Pumpkin, what do you want?" I asked again. "Is mom and dad gonna come back soon?" She asked with a terrified look.
Ever since mom and dad talked about their business trip to Canada, my mind had always been on the left side, if you know what I mean. There was a time I had a nightmare about the trip and I let mommy know, but she said I had fear fever that they would be alright. It's only that I was thinking about it too much, unlike other trips when I feel relaxed, but this one was like a terror to me.
"Angie," Isabel called again, bringing me back to reality. "Yes?" I responded. "You haven't answered my question, sis," she queried again. "Hey, pumpkin, don't be too inquisitive and behave mature. Got that?" I said, almost shouting. Isabel dreads one thing, and that is cold in her. She could cry from now till tomorrow and be cold to everyone.
She nodded her head and went to sit on the chair. And then, resting her head on the arm of the chair, I knew she wanted to cry. So I went up to her in order to let peace reign and knelt before her, raised up her beautiful small face and said, Isabel, I'm sorry for shouting at you that way. Please forgive me. I wasn't crying. I was just thinking about your words. Although I was about to cry. Isabel said staring at me. Then I called her to my chest and she held me tight. At that moment I knew she was scared. I patted her and gave her a kiss. Go ring your friend's residence. I told her. Sis I'm not going to call Boom Baby again. Because I know you don't like her staying around here. And indeed I don't like it anytime she comes visiting my sister. She's always too clumsy and too fat. Maybe that was why she was nicknamed Boom Baby. Well, I won't call Boom Baby again, she continued, but I have to call Anita and Janet. I always called them the Trio "AIJ".
"Okay, as you wish," I said and picked up my cell phone while Isabel rushed to pick up the telephone and dialed her friend's number while I dialed Janelle's number. We hung up our calls and our friends were so excited to come over. "Isabelle, come sit here, let me style your hair for them to know that Big Sis is at work."
Like seriously! She exclaimed and laughed going into her room. She got her hair combs and rushed back to the sitting room. "Big sis Angie" here I am. she said between giggles. I really love my big sis because she's always making sure I am in a beautiful and attractive shape. Pumpkin sit here Angela said breaking into my thoughts and she gave my hair a unique styling.
