EPISODE 4

TWO WEEKS LATER It is a Saturday morning and I am observing a thorough clean up. Janelle isn't here to help me because she had travelled and the barrier had been done. This is really a tough time for me and Isabel. I wonder why mom and dad left us too early just like that. A tear dropped from my eyes. It was so hot that I had to throw the broom away and sit on the floor. Isabel walked in and met me that way. Big sis Angie, she called out. I raised my head to stare at her lovely face. Big sis, will you keep doing this to me? She asked with innocent look on her face. I was touched by her question. It then dawned on me that I had been showing myself as a weakling especially to my sister Isabel. I would only be strong again if you stop doing this to me. She continued pointing at my tears. I stood up immediately and wiped my tears and then gave her a faint smile. "Big sis Angie," she called. I turned my head to her. "Why don't you move closer?" she suggested with her arms akimbo. I moved closer to her and she did something surprising and said s "Sis, no matter what happens, I still understand and I'm not too young for you to tell things instead of keeping them away." I hugged her tightly now. I was so emotional that I didn't seem to notice. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** At Evening Davin was resting, lying flat on his bed when the maid knocked at the door. Come in. he answered lazily. She walked in. Oh Hannah it's you. he confirmed. Yes sir your mother asked me to call you downstairs for some tea and toast. she replied in a humbled manner. Thanks, you may go. I'll be there shortly. he responded still maintaining that state of rest. The phone beeped. He unlocked the phone and a message popped on his phone screen. "Hi dude," the message read. He checked it closely and found out it was Jackson's message. "Hi buddy, what's up with you?" he replied. He rested again. "Ouch, dinner." he groaned. He stood up, put on his shirt and rushed out of the room. He ran downstairs and met his mom at the dining. "Oh darling, I've been waiting for you. Come and join me," she gestured. "Thanks mom," he said with his mouth watering outside of the toast. Here, have some. His mom said, stretching out a plate of toast across the table. Oh, mom, this is lovely, he said. He took a bite and saw it was so good that he didn't know his mom was staring at him with keen interest. Mom! he called in a mouthful. Erm, yes? she replied. Why are you staring at me like that? he asked, still in mouthful. "Can't you see what you're doing? You're eating up all the toast with so much interest." She responded, "Really? Then I'm off to my room since you keep staring at me while I eat too much as you said." He said and stood up to leave. "Come on son, don't get mad at me. Just sit and enjoy your meal." She said. "No, mom, I'm okay. Let me head for my room. I'll be upstairs. Take care." He said and bounced up the stairs. Mrs. Roberts sighed and takes her glass of tea. It's so hard to deal with teenagers these days. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** At Davin's Room My phone rang and I wasn't expecting a call. Grnn. the call came again. I picked up my phone. Janelle, I read. I sat up quickly and picked up the call. Hey beauty, what's up? I'm fine and nothing much, you? she replied. I felt butterflies in my belly and couldn't control my happiness. I'd really missed her since she left. "Hey, are you still there?" she asked again. "Uh, sure, yeah, I am." I replied. I didn't think twice before blurting out. "I really miss you. It's so good to hear your voice again." She giggled on the phone and responded, "Okay." Then we hung up. I must confess, I've never felt the way I felt when I'm with other girls, but with Janelle, I always feel strange. She's such a girl, I thought. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** At Angela's Residence Big sis. Isabel called out. "Yes, honey. I'll be downstairs in a minute." I called back. "We're running late," she complained. "Fine, I'm coming downstairs," I said, rushing down the stairs. "What kept you long, Angie?" she asked with a questioning look on her face. "I'm sorry. I had to keep my hair in shape, honey, so I don't look tattered and unkempt," I replied. "Let's go then," she gestured. We moved out of the house. I still found some money in dad's briefcase to refill the fuel in the car and also to do some shopping. We drove out of the compound and headed for the shopping mall. We had run out of foodstuff and can't stay hungry. We got to Rosewell shopping mall. That's my favorite shopping mall in the whole town and they treat customers so well. I packed at the packing space and went in with Isabel. I picked some items and headed for the counter when someone mistakenly hit my basket and WOOSH! Everything landed on the floor. It was a guy and I was really mad now. "Hey man, can't you watch where you're going?" I queried. "Sorry." He mumbled. He bent down to pick my goods while I was still feeling with anger. "Here," he said, handing me my basket when our face met. OMG! I couldn't believe who I was facing. I almost ran out of them all. Alex Jackson! My brain screamed. We just stood there staring at each other. Then we came back to our senses. He took his leave and I didn't think twice to grab him by the hand. He turned and faced me with a cold look. Sorry for those harsh words I said earlier. I said trembling. I couldn't stare at his face because I was damn scared of this guy that is almost perfect. I kept staring down with my long hair ar covering my face. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** Jackson stared at her. Like she was damn hot with her hair fallen on her face. I just have to keep pretending like I don't like her but I really do. She's such a beauty. He thought. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** I tried to move away from him, but he dragged me back. I almost screamed. I didn't even realize that Isabel had left the scene. "Angela, sorry for the loss," he said without showing any trail of emotion and moved away as quick as he could. I could not stop thinking about what he said. I kept on smiling. Then I remembered Isabel. "Isabel, Isa..." I saw her, checking out some items. "Oh, Isabel, I thought I lost you," I said. She chuckled and said, "Dear sis, is that your boyfriend? What are you talking about?" I replied with a question accompanied by a stunned expression. I was really surprised that she could ask that question. "No, he isn't." I replied hurriedly. ".....but sis," she cut in. "Do you have feelings for him?" "Hell no!" Isabel isn't gonna spoil my day again for me. She can't make me start thinking about someone I know is impossible to get. Isabel, time is running out and we've got other things to do at home. So let's hurry to the counter. I responded trying to change the topic.
