too quiet

LUCAS’ POV Some thing was different about Selene, she was changing Not dramatically. Not in any way that would alarm the others. If anything, she appeared calmer quieter, more composed. She spoke when spoken to. Ate what she was given. Rested when told. On the surface, she was obedient. That was what unsettled me. I had learned long ago that true obedience was loud. It asked for reassurance. It leaned, clung, questioned. Selene no longer did any of that. She moved through the pack grounds like a ghost—present, but unreachable. Its not that she had been disobedient before or that she had been hard to deal with, its just that she was no longer asking questions where she would normally ask them. And she no longer came to me first. The realization lodged itself under my skin like a splinter.
