My father paced in front of me. How long had it been now? Hours? After everything I had discussed with Elijah, I had requested him to be there when I took a test and had my blood drawn as well, just to have it truly confirmed. Of course, he wasn’t there when I took the test, but he did stay outside the bathroom, pacing like my dad did now, and he was there when the doctor confirmed it as well: I was pregnant.
Afterwards, it felt like I wasn't in control of my body anymore. I still walked around, talked, and ate a little—only because Elijah urged me to—but it didn't feel like I was doing it consciously.
