"So, what is this Hope going to do now?" Harper inquired.
We were lying in the dark bedroom, simply relishing being close to each other, yet neither of us wanted to drift off to sleep. I had made sure to keep Harper updated since I hadn't had a chance to tell her much about what was going on. I felt she deserved to at least know the situation and why I hadn't been around much.
"I don’t know. I suppose Angela will try to find a way to keep her occupied with something," I replied.
"It just sounds... awful," she remarked.
I nodded, and Harper turned in my arms.
"I'm sorry,” she said.
"What for?"
"For what I put you through. I didn’t want you, and at the same time, I'm not sure I wanted others to have you," she explained.
