My staff house was empty.
The room I designed years ago for Ayla was now filled with empty silence.
How did this happen?
I stood in the doorway, staring at the pristine room. The bed was still made, the bathroom was spotless and clean with no trace of her.
The closet was bare, a few of her stuff hung here and there but Ayla Ellison was gone.
Her debt with Colton is a debt I'd gladly pay but she didn't want to bother me, she did not want to feel indebted to me and if I go against her wishes and pay Derrick Ashford to keep her strapped to me.
I'll just be the kind of man Derrick was to her.
