Everyday I think it'll be better, everyday I feel her absence even more.
Monday was a blur, I'd been in a neighboring city for a meeting. A partnership deal that had been in the works for over three months.
Super important, the kind of deal that would have consumed my attention just a few weeks ago.
But I couldn't focus.
All I could think about was Ayla.
I'd called the office three times checking in, making sure everything was on track, making sure she was okay.
