“I haven’t stopped praying for you since the moment you got on your plane this morning.”
Kennedy accepted the old woman’s hug and figured that Grandma Lucy was probably being more literal than figurative.
“My niece Connie is waiting to drive us home. You ready to visit Orchard Grove?”
Kennedy nodded. She had forgotten how short Grandma Lucy was. “It’s so good to see you.”
Two Christmases ago, both Kennedy and Grandma Lucy had been passengers aboard the same flight. At the time, she never would have guessed that she’d one day end up dating the woman’s grandson.
