Edward’s eyes were now a deep, terrifying red. He bit into Raina’s neck, his fangs piercing her skin. Raina screamed and then fainted from the shock and loss of blood.
Raina stirred awake, groggy and disoriented. The familiar surroundings of her dorm room slowly came into focus. She looked around, trying to piece together the events from the previous day. Her friend Riku sat by her bedside, looking concerned.
**Riku:** (noticing Raina’s awakening) Raina, you’re awake! How are you feeling?
**Raina:** (weakly) Riku, what happened? I remember running away and then… nothing.
**Riku:** (sighing) You were unconscious yesterday. Tamrin found you and brought you here. He said you were in trouble.
**Raina:** (surprised) Tamrin? He brought me here?
**Riku:** (nodding) Yes. And I have to scold you for going out on a full moon night. You know how dangerous it is for someone like you.
**Raina:** (looking down) I didn’t know. I just... needed to talk to Tamrin and things got out of hand.
**Riku:** (serious) It’s not just about talking. The full moon is risky for humans. You should be more careful.
Raina nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and guilt. She knew she needed to be more cautious and appreciate Tamrin’s help.
Later that day, Raina went to class, trying to piece together her scattered memories. As she walked into the classroom, she saw Edward waiting for her, looking apologetic.
**Edward:** (approaching Raina) Hey, Raina. I wanted to apologize for what happened yesterday. I’m really sorry for... well, for everything.
**Raina:** (nodding) It’s okay, Edward. I’m just glad to be safe.
**Edward:** (sighing) And I want you to know that Tamrin carried you to your dorm. He was really worried about you.
Raina’s heart felt a pang of gratitude. She knew she needed to thank Tamrin for his kindness.
During a break, Raina found Tamrin sitting alone in the school courtyard. She approached him with a mixture of nervousness and gratitude.
**Raina:** (hesitant) Tamrin, can we talk for a moment?
**Tamrin:** (looking up, slightly guarded) Sure. What’s up?
**Raina:** (sincerely) I wanted to thank you for bringing me to my dorm last night. I’m sorry for causing you trouble.
**Tamrin:** (looking away) It was nothing. I just... didn’t want anything bad to happen to you.
**Raina:** (nodding) Still, I appreciate it. And I’m sorry about what happened in the alley. I didn’t mean for things to get so intense.
**Tamrin:** (awkwardly) I’m sorry too. I didn’t handle things well.
**Raina:** (gently) It’s okay. You were not fully aware of what was happening.
Before Tamrin could respond, Yuka walked up with a haughty stride, her expression a mix of irritation and disdain.
**Yuka:** (coldly) Raina, you’re in my seat. Get up.
**Raina:** (confused) What? This is just a regular seat.
**Yuka:** (aggressively) I said get out. Or are you planning to argue about it?
**Raina:** (sighing) Yuka, it’s just an old habit of mine to sit here. It’s really not worth making a fuss over.
**Yuka:** (snapping) Old habits or not, you better change them if you’re going to be around here.
The classroom buzzed with chatter as the students settled into their seats. The teacher, entered with a stack of papers and a look of mild frustration.
**teacher ** (addressing the class) Sorry, everyone. I didn’t realize you were already in groups before we started changing seats. I had assigned activities, so please return to your original places.
A collective murmur of relief spread through the classroom, except for Yuka, who glared at the teacher with dissatisfaction.
**Yuka:** (crossing her arms) I don’t want to move. I want to sit with Tamrin.
**teacher:** (firmly) I’m sorry, Yuka, but I make the rules here, not you. Everyone needs to return to their assigned seats.
**Yuka:** (sighing dramatically) Whatever.
As Yuka reluctantly moved back to her original seat, Raina shot her a small, victorious smile. Yuka noticed and glared back, her frustration evident.
After everyone settled back into their original seats, Yuka leaned over towards Raina, whispering harshly.
**Yuka:** (whispering) Don’t think about falling for Tamrin. He’s mine.
**Raina:** (raising an eyebrow) Your claim on Tamrin isn’t really my concern.
**Yuka:** (smirking) Just remember that. Stay away from him.
Raina turned away, a mix of amusement and irritation on her face. The tension between them was palpable, but she chose to focus on the task at hand.
Raina took her seat next to Tamrin, trying to ignore the smirk on Yuka’s face from across the room. She turned to Tamrin, trying to lighten the mood.
**Raina:** (sarcastically) Well, I was enjoying my time with Edward, but now I have to sit with you.
**Tamrin:** (grinning) You missed me, didn’t you?
**Raina:** (trying to hide a smile) No, I did not.
**Tamrin:** (playfully) Really? Because it seems like you did.
Their light banter was interrupted by teacher who had been listening from the front of the room.
**teacher:** (raising an eyebrow) Are you two done flirting, or should I assign extra work to keep you occupied?
**Raina and Tamrin:** (in unison) We’re not flirting!
The rest of the class chuckled, while Yuka’s frustration grew. She rolled her eyes and huffed, clearly annoyed by the playful exchange.
**Yuka:** (muttering) This is ridiculous.
Raina, trying to ignore Yuka’s continued grumbling, focused on the class activities.
The class continued with their assigned activities, but Raina couldn’t focus. Her head was pounding with a severe migraine. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, trying to stifle a wince.
**Tamrin:** (noticing Raina’s distress) Raina, are you okay? You look like you're in pain.
**Raina:** (wincing) I’m just dealing with a really bad headache. It’s nothing.
**Tamrin:** (concerned) You should go see the nurse. Maybe she can help.
**teacher :** (noticing) Raina, if you’re feeling unwell, you should go to the infirmary.
**Raina:** (shaking her head) No, it’s okay. I can manage.
**Tamrin:** (standing up) I’ll take her to the infirmary. It’s not safe for her to be in this state.
**teacher :** (nodding) Alright, but make sure she gets the help she needs.
Tamrin gently helped Raina up from her seat and guided her out of the classroom. The pain was becoming more intense for Raina, but she was determined to downplay it.
As Tamrin led Raina down the hallways towards the infirmary, he was unaware of the strange blue flame-like symbol burning faintly behind her neck. It was hidden by her hair and remained unnoticed by Tamrin. The symbol flickered with an eerie, otherworldly glow, casting an occasional reflection on nearby surfaces.
From a nearby building, a shadowy figure watched them with a sinister grin. The figure was dressed in dark clothing, blending into the shadows, and spoke quietly to himself.
**Mysterious Figure:** (whispering) Soon, she’ll be mine. This is just the beginning.
The figure’s eyes glinted with a mix of anticipation and malevolence as he observed Raina’s discomfort. The sense of imminent danger added a new layer of tension to the situation, hinting at deeper, hidden threats.
Tamrin helped Raina into the infirmary, where the nurse immediately took notice of her condition.
**Nurse:** (concerned) What happened to her?
**Tamrin:** (explaining) She has a severe migraine. I thought it would be best if she saw you.
**Nurse:** (nodding) Alright, Raina, why don’t you lie down on the bed? I’ll get you some medication and check you over.
Raina lay down on the bed, trying to relax despite the throbbing pain in her head. Tamrin stayed by her side, looking worried.
**Tamrin:** (softly) Do you need anything else? Water, maybe?
**Raina:** (shaking her head) No, thank you. I just need to rest.
As the nurse prepared to administer some medication, Tamrin sat beside her, offering silent support. Despite his concern, he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more going on than met the eye.
