The medallion (great star)

In a far away land, there was a star that shone in the middle of a city giving them light and protections from their enemies. The city was surrounded by high walls that was impenetrable . At the age of twelve, boys and girls were recruited into the army and trained thoroughly. Their soldiers were dressed in metal breastplate and helmet all mixed in purple attire. The archers were great experts because they do not miss their target. This city was the greatest threat to many nations, this city was known as the city of Alaska. Many years ago, the people of Kurta fought against the Alaskans and were defeated. The both tribes remained sworn enemies for many years. Alaskans served a goddess who was known to communicate from the star to the people through a seer. During the shulana festival every year, the people of Alaska offered a sacrifice to the goddess and danced round the star, the city was the richest city of its time. The Alaska goddess was called Amor, while their king was called the Inca. The kingship in Alaska was not a family inheritance, king’s were chosen by the goddess . The throne was believed to be sacred and inherited by only the good hearted. After the death of their king who had ruled for forty years, the Alaskans gathered around the tower. The king’s body was taken up to the top of the tower there he was burnt to ashes by the light from the star. The seer told the Alaskans that in three days time a new king would be appointed. The city was said to be vulnerable after the death of a king, the people of Alaska gathered together in order to perform the ritual for a new Inca. It was a sign of respect to the new Inca, it meant he had taken charge. The seer said some enchanted words after which she killed a squirrel and sprinkled the blood at the city gate. This was believed to make the reign of the new king successful. After the ritual, the seer mentioned the new Inca and sprinkled the blood on his head. The Alaskans danced and celebrated as they entered into the city. The new Inca was Elite the second son of Hopper. Elite was crowned the new Inca and he took a wife from amongst the maidens. The city grew in strength and wealth. Forty weeks after the coronation of the new Inca, Elite was found dead in his chamber. His head was smashed beyond recognition with a big log. The queen asked the seer, who killed her husband but the seer told her that the goddess choose not to meddle. The rule by the goddess for Alaska to have long lasting peace and progress is Alaskans must honor the throne. Everybody mourned the Inca but they felt the goddess had abandoned them. The Inca was burnt according to the rites. The night after the Inca was burnt, a young man went to the seer cave and asked her for a favor. On the day of the coronation, the people gathered outside the city wall. A new Inca was announced, immediately the star broke into six parts and went to different parts of the earth, the people were filled with fear. Horses whinnying and chariots noise was heard from a distance and dust was seen rising from a distance into the air. The Alaskans tried to see through the dust raised by the chariots but were unable to. Suddenly, they heard horns of ships coming from afar of on the river. The captain of the Alaskan soldiers named Swek shouted at the horn bearer to blow the horn. This was to alert the other soldiers of enemies encroachment. The Alaskans ran into the city and the gate was closed. Their enemies climbed the walls despite all Alaskan soldiers effort to keep them away from the walls. Swords clatters were heard and arrows were seen moving to kill the target, men and soldiers were killed. Swek led the new Inca, the ex queen, a son of the palace doctor and a palace maid girl, through a tunnel out of the city of Alaska. On their way, they were attacked by their enemies, Swek fought to protect them. He advised them to run while he stalled the enemy, they left him behind. On their way, archer shut the new Inca an arrow that pierced through his right shoulder. The children and the queen were able to escape into the forest. The queen was heavily pregnant and was unable to continue the journey. Labor started, the children had to help her lie on the floor and lean her back against a tree. The children’s names were Robbin and Zoey, Robbin was nine and Zoey seven. The queen gave birth to a boy, she removed the medallion on her neck and placed it on the child’s. Footsteps and crackles were heard from the bushes, Robbin shushed the queen and Zoey, he went into hiding. The baby began to cry, the queen was too weak but Zoey tried to stop the baby from crying. Suddenly, a man came to the queen and Zoey from the bushes and raised his sword to kill them. Robbin jumped out of his hide out and hit the man hard on the back of his head with a log of wood. The Man fell to the ground, Robbin stabbed him with the his sword. He went to help Zoey raise the queen to her feet, to continue the escape. The queen refused as she held Robbin’s hand gasping for air, she managed to tell him “Robbin…please take my child and Zoey with you to Kurta. When you get there find Cloe show the medallion and the child to her, she will take you in. Hurry before the sun sets.” She gave up the ghost after these words. Robbin and Zoey ran away with the child.
