Lina was very quiet during the drive from New Braunfels but her face was relaxed, probably the most relaxed it had been since Emery had crossed paths with her. Her gaze remained directed out the front and side windows for the most part, which gave Emery the opportunity to study her without seeming like some sort of stalker.
What was it about Lina that kept striking a familiar chord? Emery was pretty good at remembering names and faces. Being detail-oriented was helpful in her career.
