Chapter 34Emery
This is getting ridiculous.
Emery was under no obligation whatsoever to stay and keep Lina entertained, or to make sure she didn’t put something in the microwave that shouldn’t be there, or any of a million other things she could do to potentially hurt herself or burn the trailer down. Lina wasn’t a child. Okay, maybe she had the understanding of a child in this century, but she was a grown woman. That was part of the problem!
So there was no need for Emery to feel guilty about leaving her for a few hours. She’d left her phone with Lina with basic instructions, written down in simple terms even, and made sure she knew where her mother’s number was in her favorites list.
Now forget about her! Think about something pleasant.
It would be nice to spend time with her parent
