Three hours. Emery had been gone a mere three hours. Rushed through the visit with her parents, her beloved parents who’d done everything for her, because she was worried about Lina, all alone in Mandy’s trailer. Alone and afraid and missing Emery.

How long after she’d left had Kim arrived? And what was Kim doing there at all? Had Lina gotten her phone number at the Meetup when Emery wasn’t looking and called her, on Emery’s phone no less? So she hadn’t seen a call to her when she picked up her phone. Kim could have cleared it.
