Chapter 37Lina
The sun was shining and a ray of it fell through their bedroom window and across their bed when Salty woke Lina.
“Yes, I know. I’m coming.”
After letting the dog out and visiting the bathroom herself, Lina was torn. Emery was asleep still and she longed to crawl under the covers with her. But, no, the horses were waiting and, besides, the day promised to be glorious. Deciding Emery had slept enough as well, she sat down on the mattress beside her.
“Wake up, sleepyhead! It’s a beautiful morning. Why don’t you come out with me to feed the horses?”
“Are you crazy, woman?” Opening one bleary eye, Emery stared up at her.
“Oh, come on! We can explore Mandy’s place together. It’ll be fun.”
