“Are you sure you have time for this?”
While Emery was exceedingly grateful for both her mother’s assistance and her company, she felt a little guilty monopolizing so much of her day. She’d helped take down the Christmas lights earlier, knowing how eager her mother was to get life back to normal once the holidays were over. If it were up to her, Emery would keep the lights up year round. Normally she was practical but not when it came to holidays. Emery loved seeing everything festive.
“You saved me having to hire the boy from down the street to climb on the roof, so I will certainly make time to help you. I would have anyway. As much as I love having you back home, you don’t need that long drive on that miserable highway every day. So yes, I am going to help you find an
