The bond connects
The day at the market felt no different than any other.
Different kinds of humanoids were here, like any other day; humans, elves, dwarves.
Noises of haggling and laughter, scents from bakeries, restaurants, the pit and the washeries all wafting down the streets, causing my head to spin. I looked around for something to anchor my thoughts to.
That's when I saw the most beautiful man I'd ever seen; tall, dark, handsome and racially ambigious. The exact type I'd picture in any of my usual romance books. From a distance I couldn't tell whether he was human, elf.. or something else. The lack of hair other than on his head made me quite sure he wasn't dwarf - the very same head hair could hide elf ears. He surely carried himself like a being who would be just as much at home in an ancient forest as he was here.
As I stood there, admiring him, it seemed like he could tell he was being watched. As I observed him for all of five heartbeats, he looked up from the smithys wares he was perusing and scouted over the market. I wanted to look down when he passed his eyes over me the first time, but at the same time I wanted to be seen, so badly, by someone so beautiful.
Then, his dark eyes locked onto mine, and all the hairs on my body stood up.
It felt like my body was reacting to something bigger than me, like something was pulling me toward him, quite literally - before I'd realized it I'd already taken three steps closer to him.
