The Presentation

The next morning, there was an important presentation in college.

Elara was on the stage. She was wearing a black blazer and looked confident. The entire class and all the teachers were looking at her. The topic was - Alpha Leadership.

In the beginning, her voice was completely clear.

"Leadership is not about power, it's about..."

That's when her eyes fell on the last row.

Kael was sitting there. His arms were crossed and he was looking straight at her. No smile, no anger. Just... deep, intense eyes.

And just like that, Elara got confused.

Her heart started beating fast. She forgot her next slide. Her hands started to tremble slightly.

"Um... it's about... about..." she said, stammering.

The whole class turned back to look - at Kael.

Did Kael just wink? No, he just gave a slight smile. A smile whose meaning only Elara could understand.

Elara took a deep breath and started again. But this time there was a little anger in her voice, and a little love.

"It's about responsibility. Even if someone hurts you, you don't use your power to hurt them back..."

She said this line looking directly at Kael.

Kael's smile disappeared. He understood - that taunt was for him.

During the entire presentation, Elara got stuck twice, got confused twice, all because of Kael. And Kael just kept looking at her throughout the presentation, as if he wasn't listening to the presentation at all, he was just looking at Elara.

When the presentation was over, the teacher said, "Good, Elara, but you seemed a little distracted today."

Elara lowered her eyes. Yes, she was distracted... because of an Alpha.
