Łuptsina had always felt like she was the product of a mistaken attempt at love. Her mother was from a little reservation called the Zuni Pueblo. Her father was from Long Beach, California. Natalie, the mother, would later feel the sting of ridicule or jealousy from her relatives who’d label him the “white boy.” In either case, these two humans grew up in what many seemed to think were different worlds. However, to them, their lives were similar but also vastly different, which allowed them to find each other. In this finding of each other, they created four “little misfits.”
Łuptsina being the eldest, followed by Regina, Skyler, and Derek. Łuptsina always wondered why she was the only one with a Zuni word for her name. The other three had “white children” names. Jeremy, her dad, said it was because she was the bright yellow spark that came about because of his love for Natalie. Natalie was a strong and sturdily independent woman but soft and tender beneath all that vibrato. Natalie had allowed herself to be loved. The love was unlike anything she had ever felt. She equated their love's essence to that of the chaos found in the dramatically loud and powerful thunderstorm. However, once the storm settled, one would find a beautiful misty clear calmness.
