EPISODE 1 - THE NIGHT OF THE AWAKENING
It glowed silver—too bright, too sharp—lighting up the pack ground like frost. I stood at the edge of the clearing, my hands shaking, my heart pounding so loud I thought everyone could hear it.
Tonight was the Moon Summoning.
The night everyone my age would shift.
Everyone… except me.
For nineteen years, my wolf had been silent.
Dormant.
Dead.
I took a slow breath, trying to ignore the whispers around me.
“Why is she even here?”
“She still doesn’t have a wolf.”
“Aria Blackwood… always a disappointment.”
The laughter burned, but I was used to it. Being the orphan raised on the edge of the pack meant being ignored—until it was time to remind me I was nothing.
I lifted my eyes to the glowing moon.
Please, I begged silently.
Let tonight be different.
Alpha Damon’s voice cut through the night.
“Everyone ready for the shift?”
My chest tightened.
Damon Valerius.
Alpha of the Nightfall Pack.
Strongest wolf in three regions.
And the man I had foolishly admired for years.
Tall. Broad. Dark-haired. Cold blue eyes.
He didn’t look at me. He never did.
The ceremonial fire was lit, sparks flying into the air. Excitement buzzed through the crowd.
“You’re shaking,” a girl beside me said with a smirk. “Don’t worry. You can clap for us when you fail again.”
I turned to reply—
Then it happened.
Heat exploded down my spine.
My knees gave way.
My vision blurred.
A voice whispered inside me, old and calm.
Finally.
My breath caught.
My wolf.
Power rushed through me like fire. My body shifted—bones changing, skin glowing with soft golden light. Gasps filled the clearing.
“What’s happening?”
“She’s glowing!”
I wasn’t just shifting.
I was awakening.
My senses sharpened. I could hear every heartbeat around me.
Then a scent hit me.
Cold. Strong. Electric.
My wolf stirred.
Mate.
My heart slammed.
No.
Not here.
Not now.
I lifted my head—
And met Alpha Damon’s eyes.
He had gone completely still. His jaw tightened as the bond snapped between us. The pack felt it. Everyone did.
“That can’t be right…”
“The Alpha—her?”
My wolf surged with joy.
Mate.
But Damon’s face twisted.
Not awe.
Not acceptance.
Disgust.
“No,” he said sharply, stepping back. “This is a mistake.”
I shifted back, shaking. “Damon—”
“Do not say my name,” he snapped. “Aria Blackwood, I reject you.”
The world went silent.
Pain tore through my chest as the bond shattered. I could barely breathe.
Damon leaned closer, his voice low.
“You are weak,” he said. “A burden. Fate would never bind me to you.”
Then he straightened and spoke for everyone to hear.
“I, Alpha Damon Valerius, reject Aria Blackwood as my mate.”
My knees buckled.
But before I fell—
A deep, steady voice cut through the crowd.
“That’s enough.”
Everyone turned.
A tall stranger stepped into the clearing, his eyes glowing molten gold. His presence felt ancient. Dangerous.
My wolf surged violently.
Mate.
Impossible.
He walked toward me like no one else mattered. He stopped in front of me and gently lifted my chin.
“I’ve waited a long time for you,” he said softly. “Little fire.”
Then he looked at the pack and spoke with calm authority.
“She is mine.”
My world shattered—and rebuilt itself all at once.
Rejected by her pack.
Claimed by something far more powerful.
And deep inside me, something dangerous began to wake.
The first chapter of my true story had begun.
