These past four months have been rough and tiring. A month from now and I will be due. I never knew pregnancy could be this stressful. There are a zillion things I can't, no scratch that. I must not take. The frequent kicking of my baby is what has been keeping me going despite everything that has been happening lately.
The bond between me and Jade has grown over this past months. I couldn't stay angry with him even after all those things he said. They hurt, Yes but what's in the past is in the past.
After we settled our fight, he asked me to move in with him which I did. Ever since I moved in, everything I do to him is 'stressing myself'.
Last time I tried to take something from the kitchen cupboard and I couldn't reach it so I had to jump a little unknown to me he was around the corner He saw me and instantly went bonkers, shouting I could have hurt myself.
I feel so useless, all I do is eat chocolates, sleep, watch movies, sketch designs and exercise. These cravings for sweet things keep on escalating.
He lets me go to my store to check on things, this I insisted. His mother has been treating me like a China teacup. It's like she has completely forgotten about the contract.
My kind of baby bump was one of those rare ones, which wasn't obvious except when I wear tight tops which I haven't worn in a long time. Any cloth that wasn't free was uncomfortable for me.
The trucks I met in front of Jade's house offloading a lot of boxes into the house gave me concern. I just stepped out to get a bowl of strawberry ice-cream when I noticed there was none in the freezer. What exactly were they looking for and who let them in.
I was about to ask one of the people offloading the boxes when a man dressed in a red Ralph Lauren polo, tucked into a chinos trousers strolled towards me.
"Hi, my name is James Philips. Our company helps people with moving things from their apartment when they want to move to a new place. Mr Brown requested for our service in moving your belongings over to his place."
We talked about this before, moving all my stuff over to his place and I was yet to answer. I guess what he wants, he gets. I follow Mr Luvinto into the house to make sure all my things are handled with care. After everything had been put in place, I decided to take a quick nap.
The beep of my phone indicating a message had just entered, woke me up. It's evening already and there was no sign of Jade. The notification bar shows the message was from him. I read through the text which says something about wearing a nice dress and then coming downstairs.
All my dresses were tight, there was none I could fit into because of my baby bump seeing I had a large number of bodycon dresses. I finally settle for a jumpsuit that happened to be a little bit free and packed my hair into a messy bun.
Jade is a very romantic guy. You can never tell what he had up his sleeve. I take a look at the mirror and see I am good to go. Immediately I open our bedroom door, I see red scented candles and trails of dried rose petals stopping right at the end of the staircase. The house was enveloped with a nice smell coming from the burning candles.
You see why it's so hard to leave Jade. His charm was one to die for. I am almost at the end of the stairs when he walks towards me with a bunch of rose flowers.
"Jade you will surely be the death of me," I say.
"You deserve more, no scratch that, you deserve the world and don't ask me how I pulled this off. That's a story for another day."
He walks me to the dining table where there are a lot of varieties of dishes. He pulls out a chair for me to seat and sits at the opposite side. He just makes me feel this butterfly effects with all this care he showers me daily.
There is this particular dish that's covered. He said he is saving the best for the last which even makes me more eager to know what's in it.
Finally, he approved that I could open the dish. I take off the lid of the dish and see a diamond ring staring at me leaving me short of words.
He stands up from his seat, takes the ring from the box and goes down on one kneel as he proposes.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want you to carry my children. If you think it's too early for me to propose and you don't feel like you are ready, I am still going to try another time." He says.
"Yes, I also want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are the man of my dreams, virtually the man of every woman's dreams. Yes, I'll marry you."
He slips the cool metal on my finger and kisses my hand continuously. The expression on his face looks like that of a person who just won a lottery. God, I love this man beyond words and images put together.
A sharp pain from my stomach causes me to scream. My due date for delivery is not until three weeks.
Jade grabs his car keys and immediately tries to help me up.
The pain occurs a second time and this time around I feel something liquid on the chair. My water just broke.
"Jade my water just broke, "I scream.
This cannot be happening. I wasn't prepared for the child to come now. We planned on decorating the babies room this week. Although we have set up a room for the baby, we are yet to complete the decoration.
Jade helps me into the car and gives my hands a gentle squeeze. While he uses his other free hand to drive. He presence and warmth as he rubs my hand is what is giving me relief from these pains am currently feeling.
