I should have known my marriage was a mistake the moment my husband refused to kiss me. The room felt suffocating, the silence heavier than anything I had ever experienced. I sat at the edge of the massive bed, still dressed in my wedding gown, my fingers tightly clutching the fabric as if it could somehow hold me together. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. This marriage was meant to save my family. So why did it feel like I had just destroyed myself instead? The door creaked open, and my heart skipped.
