Xena’s voice was soft, almost hesitant, pero may halong kapilyahan sa tono. The kind that makes your pulse misbehave. “You’re spacing out again.”
I blinked, realizing I’d been staring—at her, at the way the late afternoon light slid across her face, drawing tiny constellations of gold sa paligid ng mata niya.
“N-no. I was just—uh, thinking about the problem,” I lied, flipping through her notebook like it could hide my heartbeat.
“Sure ka?” she teased, leaning closer. “Kasi parang ako ‘yung problem mo, hindi ‘tong equation.”
I swallowed hard. “Ikaw talaga… nakakagulo ka ng focus.”
