Sin of Lust by Swapie Achilles CHAPTER IX OCTOBER Mary Jane was silent the whole time, and it only means yes to Melody.  “Until when? Until all our siblings went through the same thing?!” Melody shouted, her voice is cracking and her eyes are getting teary, “until this happens to us too?!” Blanche can’t take the pressure from all of this and she began to cry out loud. “No!” Mary Jane stood up and hugs her against her bosom. “I will not let him do that to you.” “But if you manage to get fend him away from us, what about the others.” Micah asked, “I’m not sure when this will happen again, but if he did it once then there’s a possibility, he will do it again. Maybe not to us, but…” The nun knew that what these kids are telling are true, she did wants get them out of Daleon’s grasp but she can’t do that, for she’s just new in here and she can’t just tell them all his deeds because they will never believe her. She doesn’t have any backer or someone whom she can go and tell all about this. And looks like everything is against her. “Is there anything we can do?” Melody asked, very disturbed from all of it. “I think there’s nothing we can do here.” Micah replied as her knees buckle and finally fall on the floor. She wanted to protect them all but, she’s just a nun. She tightens her arms around Blanche figure and asked herself, “What can I do?” Melody put her hand on her chin as she contemplates something, her keened eyes turns wide as she exclaimed, “I think we can pull it off.” “What is it?” Micah props her head to look at her. “We can make the other ones get adopted!” she beamed from her idea, “if we can’t make Daleon go away, then why not send them away from here.” “But are you sure? You don’t want to be with them? Sending them away means only one thing, we’ll never see them again.” Micah proceed to seat in crisscross manner back on her seat. “I don’t mind if I don’t see them, as long as I know they’re safe that’s enough for me to get rest.” The older twin let out a smile. “But how can we do that?” Blanche asked, gently pushing herself away from Mary jane’s arms. “We put posters up!” Melody raised her fist up. Mary Jane was astounded from their ideas and especially their resolve to help their siblings, even if they have no chance to see them in the future, they’re still willing to do it. Their idea might be as childish as they are, but their tenacity is something that most of the adults don’t have. Mary Jane made up her mind and decided to go with this insane and wild idea, this might be something that will never be a success but at least they made a step forward, “I think that will do,” she agrees with her.   The four of them proceeded to their plans, they made pamphlets and posters that says their orphanage needs help because they are being overcrowded hoping that someone will be adopted because of it, and Daleon agrees with the idea. Thus, they are putting some posters up, people are giving them different kinds of stares, some are curious, some are getting interested and immediately contacted the orphanage to give donations but some are just walking pass them uninterested. As they put them up, Mary jane with the twin and little Blanche saw them looking at a stall that has wizards eating there and giving a high toast in the middle of the day, and across the street they saw a restaurant with family entering and exiting the diner. She doesn’t have to asked them to tell them what they feel as they see a kid being carried by his father on his shoulder and her mother holding on his back to make sure he’s not going to fall; they envied them. Of course, who wouldn’t, who wouldn’t want such a happy family. Mary Jane can see dedication on their eyes that they are willing to give everything they got to send them to a family. “Let’s go?” Mary jane asked them with a smile, “we put enough we’ll go next day again.” “Yes, sister!” the three of them responded.   Upon entering the premises of the orphanage, they can hear small incoherent noises from the inside of the convent. “What’s going on?” Micah asked. “Maybe they invented a new game?” Melody responded and runs to where the noise is coming from. “Let’s go! Let’s play with them.” “Wait, Melody!” Micah shouted, “don’t run! You might spill the bucket of glue!” And that being said, Melody stumble on her feet and the bucket of glue was thrown and spilled on the ground, “Crap…” she mumbled looking at the shed on the dirt.   They followed the sound and when they saw what’s going on and the reason why they are loud is that children are crying in front of nuns with bunch of people talking with Daleon and the ministers. They walk decided to go with them, and when they got close, they saw a bunch of wizards wannabe. “That kid spills juice on me!” a man with a huge scar on his face and a haircut that looks like a horse who seemed to be their leader said. “Caspire, what happened?” Daleon asked the kid who’s crying the loudest as he shouts his incoherent apologies to the man. “I- I… we’re just putting up posters with sister Gregoria and I… hit him and his booze spilled on himself.” He said in between hiccups and sniffles, the skin around his eyes are getting red from too much rubbing as he tries to dry his tears. Daleon heard him, and he can tell that these goons are just looking for some trouble as signs of intoxication is already present. They are not in the right mind to deal with right now. “Please, let’s just talk this out,” Daleon out his hands up in surrender, “we can clean it for you.” “Clean it?! Do you think this stain will be gone from my 1000-coin jacket?!” the horse-cut man yelled at the high priest. “This is an authentic jacket that even nobles are getting on their knees to get it!” Making the kids and nuns flinch from the loudness of his voice. s “Okay… please calm down, lower your voice,” Daleon begged them with the calmest tone he can utter, “the kids are getting scared.” “I don’t care about these smelly brats! Pay for it!” he grabbed Daleon’s collar. “Or if you don’t pay, I’ll get this whole f*****g, stinky, church of yours! And of course, along with these kids.” Smaller kids started to cry out loud from the threat.   “A-Alright I understand.” He replied. “Pay now!” He hollered on his face, droplets of his sticky saliva went on his face. “We will, but we don’t have right now, please just wait a moment,” he pleaded. “But I assure you we’ll pay twice if necessary.” One of his crew got up to him from behind and whispered against his ear. And what he heard made him almost let out a fume of steam from his ears. “Do you think I believe you?! I know you got may donation here!” the leader hollered back to him and kids are getting scared so they were guided by the nuns inside. “Triple the price!” “Hey where are you going! Stay there!” he threw the priest on the ground and proceeded to walk towards the direction the scared kids. Some of the nuns surrounded him and help him get on his feet, and as soon as he stood up, he went in front of the boss and put his hands up, “Please this is the sanctuary of Luxuria. We agreed to pay so please don’t terrorize the kids.” He said. “And what are you going to do about it, huh?” the leader is egging him. “What the high priest can do now? Pray for Luxuria? As if that thing is real, your god can’t save you.” he scoffs at him and pushed him away from him. “Hey! You nuns and you brats you will be under my authority and you will obey everything I say! I declare that this foul house of yours is now my sanctuary and not for some god that don’t even exist-!” And just a moment after he said that words, he found himself on the ground with a huge L-shape cross on his neck. The weapon isn’t touching the skin on his neck but he can feel the pain from an open wound on it. “What- in the world just happened?!” he internally screamed but his words came unheard. “Please, we agreed to pay you.” Daleon said with a stern voice. “So, don’t get the kid even got scared.” “I know!” the leader stutters and his knees are trembling but he chose to play courageous even with obvious sign of fear. They immediately run away from the scene, along with a shout, “We’ll get back here!” The kids run to Daleon with amazement in their eyes and the nun with venerations, they can’t believe that their priest will wield something like that. He’s not just a priest, they all said in their minds. But only the certain four aren’t thinking like that. They don’t know if they’ll feel delighted or what because their siblings are safe and the goons are gone or the fact that Daleon has the cross of Luxuria.
