Sin of Lust by Swapie Achilles CHAPTER XV OCTOBER   Blanche on the other hand can’t help but tremble from the mere voice of the man whom she despised all these years. She subconsciously grips the handle of the food cart she’s pushing as she look at where he’s staring at. “Shaira,” she internally called the kids name who’s running around before looking back to Daleon with a death glare, “Like hell I’ll let you touch them.” The dinner has ended and it is now time for bed when Daleon called Shaira. “Shaira” Daleon called the kid with the kindest voice he could muster along with the gentlest smile on his lips that deceives so many people, “would you like to help Father Daleon? There’s a little problem and I think you’re the only one who can help me.” “What is it father Daleon” the kid curiously asked, eager to help him. “We have a secret it’s just between you and me, okay?” Daleon whispered against her ears with his index finger on his lips, “no one has to know, and no one should know.” The kid almost jumps in excitement as she believes that she’s being entrusted with a heavy and huge secret, “Yes, I promise,” she nods with pure enthusiasm. “Let’s go to my room, and we will discuss it.” he held his hand out to which the kid didn’t hesitate to take.   But unbeknownst to them there’s a pair of suspicious eyes watching them from afar. When they arrived to the door way of his room, he kneeled in front of her, “Whatever it takes, you will keep it a secret right?” Shaira hastily nod and draw a cross on her chest, “I promise!” “Okay…” Daleon opened his room and let Shaira enters it before closing the door behind her. Blanche stood close behind the door listening to everything that’s going on, readying herself if ever she needs to barge in but it seems like they just arrange some paper and nothing happened. “That’s strange,” she whispered as her ear pressed on the door listening on the rustles of papers and seldom laughter. After an hour Mary jane heard the cheerful voice of Shaira getting close to the door and saying her goodbye to Daleon, and because of this she hurriedly run to the other side acting like she just wasn’t there a few seconds ago. “Hi, there little Shaira!” she beamed when she saw her getting out of the door acting like she just happened to pass by. The kid stiffens at the sound of her voice, a sign that she must have thought that her secret will be revealed, “Hi sister Blanche I didn’t know you were there.” She laughs nervously as she rubs the back of her head, “it’s night now, so I’ll be going now to bed. Good night, sister.” The nun creased her eyebrows with a smirk, “Hey, wait up. I need a help on something.” She smiled at her and the kids stops on her tracks. “What is it, sister?” Shaira tilted her head in confusion. “I want you to do something for me,” she said in pure seriousness on her tone and this made Shaira gulp down, “but in return I will tell you who I really am.” “Who you really are?” she asked. “Yes, I am not what you think I am. But I will tell you the real me, if you are willing to cooperate with me.” Shaira became curious on what’s she’s telling her thus, they went to library where it all started. “What do you want me to do, sister?” the little girl asked the nun and the only thing that illuminates them is the flickering fire of the lamp in front of them. “There’s a monster in this place.” She told her with utter gravity, yet this made the kids laugh. “What are you doing sister? I’m not a kid anymore I’m already 12!” she laughs. “That kind of joke won’t work on me.” She wipes tears of laughter from the corner of her eyes. But Blanche didn’t say anything in return thus she remains silent and held her expression the same. Her eyes not leaving the light of the fire and her hands are in the firm intertwined position above the table. “You’re…you’re not serious, are you?” she asked with jittery voice. “I want to tell you that I am joking but there is.” She replied with a sad smile, “there is a monster, and he’s hiding among us.” “What does he look like? The monster?” the kid whispers as she looks around if the monster is with them. “He has the same skin as ours, he has two eyes like us, he is just like us. Hiding under the same skin we wear.” She answered. She wanted to tell her who she’s talking about but she can’t for the kid will never believe her. “What?! Then how do we find that is he have the same face with us?!” Shaira slightly panics. “There’s only one way.” Blanche replied, her eyes finally look directly on hers. “What is it?” the kid began to sweat like bullets. “The monster will tell you to remove your clothes or he will do it himself.” She stated. “But don’t let him.” “R-Remove my clothes?” she clenches her hand on her shirt. “And then what?” “After he removes your clothes, he will touch your whole body and his touch is paralyzing, to the point where you can’t even move or speak or call for help,” she told her. The kid starts to tremble. “And then he will start to bite your soul off away from your body, it may not hurt you when he bites but he will take everything away from you and then eventually it will hurt you, he will tear you apart.” She continues and each of her words are getting heavier and heavier. Shaira listen to her intently, “and then what?” “After he’s done with you, you will never feel happiness again for he took it away from you. When someone did that to you or anyone else, tell me.” She said. “You can tell that the someone is the monster when… only when he touches you above your knee or intentionally touches your parts that no one should touch except you.” She explained, “you already know your forbidden parts, right?” Shaira nodded, “Sister Marga thought us about it and said that no one should touch our forbidden parts.” “Good,” Blanche replied in relief, thinking that they are not that clueless about it, “If someone touches you there, tell them you don’t want to be touched. Don’t be afraid to speak up, okay?” Shaira nodded. “And tell me if you find someone that is being touch intentionally like that, okay. Because we might not know, they are the monsters.” She told her.  “I want you to tell me, and don’t be afraid to do so. I am here, I will help you. Let’s get that monster away from your siblings. Only you and I can make it and I can’t trust it with anyone else but you.”    Blanche told everything that’s needed to be told to Shaira, where she shouldn’t be touch and when she saw someone who was touching others like that, she will tell it without any hesitation to her. Shaira was determined to know who’s the monster so her siblings will be safe from the unknown beast. Since then, whenever there’s time Blanche is always observing the kids from their behavioral patterns and habits if there’s something off, she’s always there for them. “I will not let anyone get hurt.” She said internally as she hugs the pile of linens on her arms, “I will get them out of here.” “Sister Blanche?” a boy gently pulled her skirt to get her attention, “what are you staring at?” he asked. “Oh, Renzi.” She smiled down at the boy, “Nothing, I am just thinking that’s all.” “I see,” Renzi returned the smile, “then please play with us?” “I’m sorry but I have a lot of things to do, why don’t you play with Shaira instead?” she suggested. “Shaira is weird.” He said with a pout. “What do you mean?” she asked curiously. “She’s always asking us questions if we see anything weird or if we were touch by something weird.” He stated. “I think she’s the only one who’s being weird from all of us.” This made her smile a bit, “Shaira might have been too eager to know who’s the monster, or does she perhaps just want to learn who I am? Either way this is the best for all of us.” she said inside her head. “Is that so? Well why don’t you tell her that what she’s doing is slightly bothering you. I’m sure she’ll understand.” She told him. “But…” his pout gets bigger. “You see, Renzi. Sometimes people can’t understand you if you don’t tell them what you feel. Because if you don’t, they will remain on doing it to you.” She smiled at her. “Okay I will tell her.” He replied with enlightened smile and pulled Blanche’s sleeve. Blanche hummed and asked, “what is now” she leaned down because she thought he’s going to say something. But when he can finally reach her, he tiptoes and give Blanche an innocent kiss on her cheek, “I love sister Blanche!” Renzi beamed. The nun smiled at him and said, “I love you too, Renzi!” she chimed with the same enthusiasm as the kid, before he runs away.
