CHAPTER 49

1070 Words
“As you wish.” Just after those words left Luxuria’s mouth, everything went insane. This was instantly felt by Ester. From the fact that even though she's tired, when she felt the danger, this made her want to run away and yet at the same time she can’t move. She can feel the danger closely and gradually approaching her, but she can't do anything because her muscles are too stiff to move. All she can do is to suck up air and breathe, As she watches Blanche getting more monstrous than earlier. “Just what in the world is happening?” She stuttered as she saw Blanche from behind her with eyes almost blank while dark wind swirling around her like she’s in the middle of a hurricane, and the wind that surrounds her are sharp enough to cut the stones that are near her. Blanche took a step, getting closer to the mayor, but then Esther became scared and she started to back away as well. However, she doesn't have the control over her body. And that's when the nun suddenly disappeared from her sight. Ester immediately darted her head from left to right, up and down, to find her but then she couldn't find her anywhere, so the last thing she hadn't seen was behind her. She instantly turns her body, only to find the tip of her weapon so close to her neck, where there’s only a few millimeters from her skin. “F*ck!” she internally cursed, “Move! Move stupid body of mine!” She roared in her head. And that's when the tip of her finger started to flinch, Resulting for her to let her thorns defend her. Again, they fight with each other, just like what happened earlier, but this time each of their attacks are deadlier and stronger. But at this moment.Blanche took the upper hand and finally turned the table. She now finally managed to get close to the mayor and destroy all of her thorns that surrounded her. Finally, hitting her square on the face. This causes her to outbalance and her vision to become blurry. Right now.But even though that her vision is not that clear, she can tell that danger is approaching her. And in just a blink of an eye, she saw her own body from afar without a head. “Wait, what? Is that… Is that my body?” Esther's mind is still at function, “Well. I’ll at least see you on the other side.” and she can still think before her life finally comes to an end. “I don't think I understand what you have said to me. But at least in another life, I wish you to become my friend.” The war has finally ended, and Blanche retracted her magic and now she has full control of her mind and actions, Before finally dropping on the ground as she thought, “What the hell has just happened?” She asked with rugged breathings. She looked at her weapon that she was still holding and she couldn't believe What she thought had happened? “Did I really do that?” She asked herself because as far as she can remember, she is just watching from behind as her body moves on its own and she has no control of any of her body parts. It feels like a deja vu, like when the time she killed Daleon, She was like watching her own body from afar, doing things she never thought she was going to do. But then her sanity became prominent once again when she remembered the children. “Wait… The children!” She exclaimed, before forcing herself to stand up and run towards them. But before she could even step her foot, she remembered this painful memory she had. Her mind darted to Mary Jane. It was painful for her to leave her like that, especially that she has never left her before. However, to honor her bravery and courage, She bit her lower lip and shut her eyes close. She proceeded to move forward, and leave her corpse behind. She ran downwards to the place where she said that she would be back. Her body is aching all over and is screaming for aid, but she put no thought about it. She made her way to where she thought the children were, and she thought that they were already far away, but then she found them still on the wall. “What are you still doing here?!” She shouted from frustration since she thought that they had gone far. “Sister!” Dean exclaimed when he saw their sister, closing up to them. He then wanted to explain why they were still there, but then he Immediately cut himself when he saw how wounded she was. “Allie is– Sister, what happened to you?!” “This is not the time to worry about me. What's happened here? What's going on? Why are you not that far? I told you to go away as far as you can.” She bombarded them as she climbed up, and there she saw Ali’s hand stuck in between the thorns. By looking at it, she can tell that this hand has stuck there for too long, because her hand is starting to bruise. “Ali, are you alright?” She asked the child since she saw that she's getting pale. “Yes, sister, I am alright.” The child breathes out but they can tell that she's just trying to be strong but clearly not fine. Blanche grits her teeth and decides to free her, “Step aside.” She told the children, to which they did. She then went to use her weapon to destroy the walls, finally, freeing the child. “Go, go, go, go. Move, move, move.We have to keep going before reinforcements arrive.” She told them, and she ushered them to go. But since Ali is too weak to even move, Blanche went to help her, by carrying her on her back. “I'm sorry, sister. I should have been more careful so this wouldn't have to happen.” Blanche only bestowed her a smile and said, “Don’t worry about it. Just take a rest on my back while we're running.” And just like that, Ali fell asleep on her back.
