Sin of Lust by Swapie Achilles
CHAPTER XXXI
OCTOBER
“Lox-!” but before he was able to utter his son’s name he was cut off when Lushes spoke.
“Who’s this filthy man?” her eyes scrutinize his old appearance, dirty clothes, and barefoot feet, with her brows knitted together in disgust, scowling the whole time she looks at him.
Loxo wasn’t able to respond, he’s thinking what would his girlfriend see him if she knew this is his father, “Uh…” he looks at her and to his father who’s looking at him with genuine love and excitement, as he holding Lushes’ shoulder to get her away from the man.
“Loxo… here’s your money.” Nado said with a small genuine smile, handing the fat satchel that contains coins. “I didn’t know you have a lovely partner now, son.” he let out a weak chortle.
“Money? Son? Do you know this dirty man, my love?” Lushes turns to face him with a slight disgusted look as well.
Loxo look at his father, who held the same unwavering smile on his tired face as his hands remain extended, waiting for him to get the bag.
However, Loxo did what Blanche and Nado didn’t expected, he denied him, “I don’t know him my love.” He said out loud, his words came out as easy as shooing a stray dog.
And in that moment the heart of a father shatters in to millions of pieces as he said those mere words. Everything stops, Nado is dumbstruck when he heard that, he felt nothing, literally nothing. His hearing became dull that he couldn’t even hear his own breathing, and yet at the same time only the words of his son rang inside his head.
He forgets the pain brought by his wounds on his nor the pain on his feet brought by the merciless heat of the ground bathed under the sun.
His muscles couldn’t move as if every nerve in his body betrayed him, his smile remains on his face and his hand stayed on the same position when he hands the satchel. His eyes are wide filled with both confusion and eagerness that he would have just misheard him.
“Lox…o” he muttered under his breath, his eyes are pleading for him to repeat his words for him to be able to confirm that he’s just misheard him.
To which Loxo didn’t hesitate to comply, “I’ve never seen him at all in my entire life,” he muttered, “maybe you’re just mistaking me with someone else.” He faked a smile to him and this made Lushes became a smiling mannequin again.
“Oho~ I’m sorry my love, for a moment I thought you’re related to this rag.” She rolled her eyes on the old man and clings on Loxo’s arm who’s smiling the whole time.
“I can’t lose her now, after six months of pure perseverance to get this once of a kind woman. I can’t take the chance to lose it now.” Loxo grits his teeth, refraining from cursing him from calling him son in front of many people, “I’m sorry old man, but I’m sure you’ll understand.”
“Let’s go, my love.” Lushes pulled Loxo inside a portentous hotel, seductively giggling while she traces her fingertips from his chest to his chin, as she batts her eyes a few times.
“You heard him, now go on before flies follow you here.” She waves her hand as if she’s just shooing Nado.
But before they could even step inside and talk to the receptionist, a jaw breaking punch send Loxo out of the hotel’s entrance door back to the ground, in front of his father. The punch is so strong that his face turns almost 180 degrees.
“Loxo, my love!” Lushes exclaimed with her hands on her mouth. “Who did this to my love?!” she runs towards him and kneeled to help him stand up, “are you okay? Are you hurt?”
The man on the other hand is shaking his head from side to side, to get his hazy vision back to normal, as he felt a warm sensation trickle on his nose, whispering, “Wait… what happened?”
Lushes stood up and yelled once again, “Who did this?!”
“I did.” A stern voice of a female replied to her queries, to which gained the attention of all those who are in the scene.
“Who is she? A mistress?” murmurs erupts when they saw Blanche’s raging orbs.
“You…” Lushes hurriedly pulled the hem of her dress and stomps on her way with furious eyes, “how dare you hurt my love!” she slapped Blanche straight on her right cheek to which made the said woman’s head turns.
With a small red imprint of her hand, however, this didn’t make her falter even one bit, instead, she raised her hand and return the favor, slapping the woman much stronger than what she did to her.
Lushes was sent to the ground, nearly unconscious and have a huge slap mark on her face. Everyone’s murmurs started to get louder and asked who she is and how dare she to do that.
“The better question is, how dare this man did that to his own father?” she said, her steps echoed on the pavement as she walks towards to Loxo.
“What are you talking about? Father? I don’t know him!” he defended his worthless pride, even though he’s crouching on the ground and his saliva is trickling down on to dusty road.
All the murmurs were immediately replaced with audible gasps when she kicks Loxo on his stomach, powerful enough to make him vomit all the beer he drinks all night.
“You don’t know him?” she scoffs, pulling him up from holding his head up, “are you sure you don’t know the man who sacrifices all of his horses to give the money you’ve been requesting for the past six months?” she asked him.
“What is that woman saying?” people around them looks at her as if she just grew a second head.
“Look at him,” she said to him with menacing glare on her eyes, forcing his head to look at the old man’s way, “look closely at him, look at the wounds on his hands, look at the brunt feet of your father, look how he neglected himself just to give you all you wanted and here you are, wasting all his efforts just for a w***e?”
