She counted in her head as the hard shells of eggs hit her head. Her eyes were closed, fist clenched and teeth clenched. She felt nothing hitting her head again, she opened her eyes. The sight of the brunette girl in front of her made her sick. Hatred? That's such a mild word to describe what she's feeling towards the brunette girl.
"What? I thought you were so bold yesterday. How about you talk now, you b***h!" The taunting smirk plastered on the brunette's lips made Hermione so sick to the stomach. Punch her! Slap her! Kick her! The voice in her head kept screaming but she could only keep her cool. Acting out would only put her in more trouble.
"Leave her, Melissa. I think she's learnt her lesson." A dark haired girl beside Melissa said, glaring deeply at Hermione.
"This is only the beginning, Hermione. Cross your lane one more time and you're dead." Melissa moved closer to her, "Fatherless people like you should know thier place, don't you think?"
She shoved Hermione out of the way and catwalked away with her friend. Hermione screamed in anger as soon as they were out of sight. She kicked hard stones on the ground in anger to the point her legs bled. She needed something to take out all her anger on. She sat on the ground and cried. This has been going on for two years. She never did anything to those girls. Her only crime was her face. Melissa claims Hermione's face is sickening. Why? Hermione always asked that question but she never gets an answer.
After about thirty minutes of crying, she finally left the school field. She walked slowly to her class with her hair full of broken eggs. All eyes were on her as she entered the class. Her eyes met with Gray, the popular guy, and she quickly adverted her gaze. She walked to her seat and picked up her bag. Without another word, she walked out of the class.
"Hermione! Hermione!" Gray kept calling as he ran after her. Hermione ignored his calls. He finally caught up with her and grabbed her by the arm. Gray couldn't help but gulp at the sight of her glare.
"Hermione...
She yanked her arm out of his grasp and continued her walk. "Can you please look at me? School isn't over yet, where are you going?"
Unable to take it anymore, Hermione snapped.
"What? Why can't you leave me the f**k alone?!"
Gray was taken aback by her outburst. "Hermione...
"I asked you a f*****g question! Were you sent to annoy the crap out of me? Why do you always make my life hard? Why?!"
Gray's heart ached at the sight of Hermione's tears. "I'm sorry."
"Do you know why I'm like this? Your crappy girlfriend did this to me because she thinks I have something to do with you. You know damn well that I try my possible best to avoid trouble with Melissa and you're not helping matters at all! Just leave me the f**k alone, is it that hard?!"
Hermione stumped away, leaving Gray rooted on a spot. Passersby stared at the weird girl who had broken eggs all over her head as she walked. "Shouldn't she wash that out of her hair?" That was on everybody's mind. Hermione finally got to the front of her house. School is hell for her but her home? If there's somewhere worse than hell, her home is definitely that place. Hermione lives with her stepmother. Her evil step-mother to be precise. Her stepsister isn't any better. Once she steps into that house, there's nothing like peace for her.
"What's the use?"
She said to herself and turned away. She started to walk down the rode. She got to a bridge and she stopped. She stared at the water below and smiled. She felt at peace staring at it. "I wonder what it feels like."
She took off her bag and climbed up the railings of the bridge.
"Hey! Get down from there." A woman screamed. Hermione ignored her. She spread her arms wide and let herself go. She closed herself as she fell freely. Splash! She fell into the cold water. She light above got dimmer and dimmer in her eyes until she couldn't see the light again. She suddenly saw light again, it got brighter. It was as if she was waking up from a nightmare.
She stood up abruptly and looked around the strange place she was in. She was still wondering where she was when a woman walked in. Hermione seemed to forget how to breathe when she saw the woman. The woman looked so unrealistically beautiful. Her hair was red and very long. Her hair passed her butt. Her eyes were azure and her fair skin was flawless. She looked like the princesses you'd only find in fantasy movies.
"Why are you staring at me like that, earthling?"
She sounded bold and rude. Hermione batted her eyelashes and spoke when she finally found her voice, "Who are you?"
The lady didn't reply. She simply walked to a gold closet. "Who are you?" Hermione asked again, "I've never seen you before. Why am I here? Do I know you?"
"Know me? You don't, sweetie."
"I don't understand. I remember jumping...wiat, is this heaven? Am I dead?" Hermione asked in horror and the lady chuckled. Her chuckle sounded so pleasant to Hermione's ears.
"You're not in heaven, earthling."
"So I'm still alive? I'm still on earth?"
"Earth? No. You're in a place far better than earth."
"Huh?"
"You're in Ameldia, a place much more better than this earth you speak of. Another universe entirely."
"This is insane. Totally crazy. I'm dreaming right? I'm sure I am. I'm sure I'm on a hospital bed right now. You're not real. How can a person be this pretty and be real?"
"Wow. I take that as a compliment but how about you take a look at yourself?" She pointed to a large standing mirror and Hermione turned. Hermione widened her eyes at the reflection staring back at her.
"What...how...why do I look like this?"
She touched her face as she asked. She looked completely different. Her brown eyes were now green. Her hair was now white. Her slim body was now curvy and her skin was flawless.
"This...this isn't me."
"Girl, that is you."
"But...but...
"How about you come sit and don't yourself a heartattack. Don't be such a child."
"Okay, first of all, don't call me a child. You certainly look my age and can you please explain all these? Firstly, am I alive?"
"No, you're dead."
"What?! But you said...
"Calm down, will you? As I was saying, you're dead on earth and your soul came here in this new body."
"How did I get a new body?"
"I gave you."
Okay, this is crazy. All these seemed so unbelievable to Hermione. How? She gave her the body? What is she?
"What are you?"
"I'm a witch."
"Hahaha. I see. A witch? Ha! I see you're filming a Hollywood movie right now, right? But you see, I'm not a good actor. I don't have that talent so...
Hermione's words stopped when the lady suddenly began to float in the air. She flew towards Hermione and stopped inches from her.
"You were saying?"
"How...how...
"Are all earthlings clueless like you? Listen carefully, I won't repeat myself. You're no more on earth, you're now in Ameldia. You can say it's almost the same as your planet except that we are much higher than you in technology and we practice magic. So in conclusion, I saved your soul, brought you to my house and here we are. By the way, I'm Harley, a witch. Soon to be the head witch though."
Hermione stared at Harley speechlessly. She didn't hear wrong, did she? All Harley just said is...true? She is loosing her mind! Right now, she wishes to go back to earth.
