CHAPTER NINE As the caravan pulled out of the square, Vass sprinted toward it. It would not be able to travel quickly in the city. There were too many people, and all the wagons needed to stay together. He would be able to catch it and persuade Asphodel to return with him. Vass continued running. As he approached the exit from the square, he found his way blocked by four men.
