8. Diwali

"Navyaa!" Nandini jumped on her as soon as she met her in college to which Navya widened her eyes and pulled her cheeks "Kyaa huaa?"

"I kissed him on cheeeek!" Nandini exclaimed blushing to which Navya hit her shoulders "Turtle kahi ki..!" Nandini widened her mouth and hit Navya "Kyu?"

"Lip kiss is all I want!" Biting her lower lip, Nandini blushed "Kyaa tu bhi!"

"Good Morning ma'am!" One of the newly joined teachers wished them to which they smiled and again turned towards each other "Lip kiss? Lekin kaise?"

"Don't you love him?" Nandini thought for a minute "Recently mile hai Navy! Aise kaise..!" Navya sighed and made her sit on one of the benches and held her hands "Nandu, tujhe accha lagta hai jab wo phone karta hai?" Nandini nodded with a smile "Bohot accha lagta hai!"

"Jab wo hasta hai?" Nandini closed her eyes and all she could imagine was his endless laugh and that purity and innocence it held "Bohot handsome lagte hai!"

"Jab wo milne aata hai?" Nandini smiled and remembered their Ghat meet "Haan!"

"Jab wo call nahi kar pata?" Nandini's memory lane hit the phase and she remembered how once he literally forgot to call her because he was very busy. She was awake all night just to talk to him but he couldn't. Though the very next thing he did once he was home was to call her at 6 am, but she felt something very missing that night "Accha nahi lagta!"

"Obviously this is love Nandini! Itna accha ladka hai, who won't fall in love him.. Itna handsome hai, itna caring hai.. Tu toh kitni lucky hai!" Nandini blsuhed "Baba ne kitna accha rishta dekha hai..!"

"Accha! Baba ne dekha hai ya Kisi aur ne?" Nandini giggled "Manik bhi na, ek hi mulakat me kaun rishta bhejta hai!" Navya giggled "Obviously because he liked you!!" Nandini nodded with a smile "Btw, itni jaldi pyaar toh hota nahi hai Navu?"

"Haan wohi baat hai!! Ek kaam karr! Shaadi se saat janm seal hote hai na? Tu na last janm ka intezaar kar! Tab dono bandar bandariya banke love confession karna thik hain?" Navya said with a plaster smile to which Nandini pouted and hit her "Chal andar, class start hone waala hai!"

Manik was working on his computer when someone stood near his cabin "Arey Rohan, come in!"

"Hey Manik! How's life going?" Manik smiled "Great yaar! You say? How's you and Natasha?"

"She's all good man. We are thinking of turning this live-in into a marriage you know!!" Manik smiled "Great bro! That will be so amazing!!"

"Btw, man! Congratulations on your marriage yaar!! Kitna accha laga sunke!" Manik smiled "Thanks man!"

"Bhabhi ki picture dikha de? Agar hai toh?" Manik nodded and took his purse from where he took out a small picture of Nandini laughing "Oh damn! She's so pretty!!"

"That she is!" Rohan giggled "Bataya nahi bhai, when did you fall in love? All I thought was that Manik was so serious.. Be like Manik!" Manik let out a laugh "Arranged Marriage hai yaar!" Rohan gave an impressive smile and walked away after some time.

"Aha! I, for sure am a lucky man, Miss Juneja! You are so pretty!" He softly kissed the passport picture and continued working on the computer, remembering their yesterday moments in mid.

7 November.

"Haan Haan Maa!! Anar ek kilo le aaunga! Aap tension mat lijiye!" He kept the purse from his office table inside his pocket while talking to his mommy dearest.

"Beta tujhe nahi bolti.. Pankaj and Roshni khud kaam karrahe hai and Cabir khud bahar hai.. Arn-"

"Maa! Main le aaunga!! Aap please tension mat kariye! Main just nikal raha hu!" Sreelekha smiled at her obedient son "Tu kitna pyaara baccha hai! I love you!"

"I love you too Maa!!" And they both hung up the call smiling ear-to-ear.

Manik parked his bullet near the market and got inside the complex to buy one kilo of pomegranate and soon came back when his eyes found Tanishq just nearby.

He thought for a minute and then entered the Tanishq showroom just to see so many husband and wives showering love in form of gifts and all. He smiled at himself and mentally blushed 'Last Diwali being Single!'

"Anklets hogi?" He asked one of the sales women who were already drooling eyeing the epitome of hotness near them. They soon came up with certain designs and Manik selected one of them and paid the cash through card.

With a smile, he entered his house to see it all decorated with lights and the ladies of the house were decorating the threshold with Rangolis and beautiful diyas. God was so happy while creating thia beautiful gender, females. He thought and smilingly keeping the pomegranate on the table, walked inside his room.

As soon as he heard his Bade Bhaiyaa calling for him, Manik came out clad in a simple cotton blue kurta which looked perfect on him. It clearly showed what body he held, with much heavy biceps and what hotness he was.



"Jee bhaiya!" Sreelekha sighed at Manik "Tu apne liye kabhi dhang ka kapra nahi khareed sakta na?"

Manik pouted "Maa! Kitna comfortable hai!" Sreelekha rolled her eyes while Yash giggled from behind "Manik, jaa Pankaj se bol Jalebi tal dene, Juneja parivaar raaste me hai!" Manik nodded and a small smile graced his lips hearing about Junejas. What will be she wearing? Maa had chosen a dress for her, I remember..

Within ten minutes, Junejas entered with their part of gifts. Manik was crossing the living room after informing Pankaj when his eyes laid on Nandini who looked at him and smiled.



Widening his eyes, he kept looking at her until Mukti pushed him slowly. Jeez! She looked sooo prettyyy!!! Dudeee!

All of them were served snacks and Jaya decided to help Sreelekha and others in kitchen. Nandini tried insisting but the ladies simply denied asking her to spend time with Manik since their marriage was just two weeks later.

Nandini simply nodded and taking the tea and pakoras, went to Manik's room who was busy with his work again. She knocked and he asked her to come in. She stood by the door when he noticed and smiled "Andar aa jao, gate lock kardo! Warna sab pareshan karenge!" Nandini with a flushed face nodded and walked to the bed "Chai and kuch pakore!"

Manik simply kept the laptop on his bedside table and she sat on the bed with the tray.

"Toh kaisa chal raha hai sab?" He asked sipping the tea to which she flashed a smile "Accha chal raha hai, aapka?"

"Mera bhi sab theek chal raha!" He smiled too and both got back to eating not knowing what to talk about now.

"Pata hai, mera friend hai ek, Rohan wo bhi shaadi karraha hai, apne live-in partner ke saath!" Nandini nodded at the information "Congratulations to him!"

"Ye.. Yeah Congratulations!" He bit his lower lip and nodded.

"Wo.. Bohot sundar lag rahi ho!" Nandini blushed and said "Thank you!"

"Accha main washroom se thori der me aaya!" Nandini nodded and kept chewing the pakoras when she noticed one of the doors of his huge wall-cupboard open. She walked to him and was about to close it when she saw something which made her turn around and look intensely. Taking out the glossy papers, her eyes widened.

"Yeh toh meri sss ke pictures hai..!" She bit her lower lip getting to know about him keeping her pictures.









"Itnee saare..!" Red hue crept on her cheeks acknowledging her soon-to-be husband's admiration in the state of creepy stalking.

"Yeh.. Yeh kuch nahi Nandini.. Yeh!" He quickly took the pictures and kept the pictures deep inside and quickly turned around, closing the door.

"Lekin Manik.. Yeh toh!" He quickly rested his back on the cupboard and flashed an embarrassed smile "Kuch.. Kuch Nahi!"

Raising her brows, she walked closer to him when, trying to divert her, he pushed her on the bed softly to which she too pulled him for support and both were on the bed, Manik above Nandini.

"Manik aap meri pictures rakhte hai?" She asked softly keeping her hands on his chest to which he sighed "Haan.. Wo..!"

"Its okay!" She got so happy that he was gifted a quick kiss on his cheek which made him smile.

"Someone's very happy!" He slowly took her palm from his chest and kept them on the mattress while she blushed "I have started to feel for you, Manik! I guess this is love..!" She spoke without any full stop, without any blink.

He blinked for a while and then smiled deeply "Same here.. Even I have started to love you..!" He whispered against her neck and kisses there while she clutched his kurta from the other palm.

"Accha lagta hai jab tum paas hoti ho!" He said looking into her eyes and kissed both her eyes as she closed them.

"I guess, even I am in deep love!" He breathed against her lips to which she started to breath faster and unwrapped her palm from his hold, slowly wrapping her arms around his neck. He eyed her closing her eyes and slowly placed his lips against her.

Within a minute, he sensed her moving lips and started responding, diving deeper into her mouth.

"You are so beautiful!" He whispered in the span of two seconds when both of them broke their kiss of half -minute to take breath.

Her wrapped arms pulled him again and both the lips met again creating sparks which no Diwali pataka could ever do. He surely showed her what a devil he was on bed, while she was no sane.

Ruffling his hairs, she deepened the kiss while he kept kissing her until a knock disturbed both of them.

Both quickly stood up breaking the kiss and he let out a frustated sigh while she adjusted her dress and smudged lipstick.

"Bhaiyu, Bhabhi! Everyone's calling for you!" Avneet came up with a smile and went away.

"Let's go!" He chose not to look at her and quickly went away while she giggled eyeing the blushing Manik and followed him.

After crackling fireworks and all, the elders walked to their rooms for a sleep and as usual, the youngsters moved to the terrace for their time of the year.

Nandini has had already talked with both her mums and both had agreed to it.

"Ahaan!! So bhabhi, bhabhi ki behen and bhaabhi ki dost is here too!!" Cabir flashed a smile as he announced and then his eyes moved to Navya who was already smiling at him.

"Never Have I Ever is the best we can play, no?" Arnav suggested and unknowingly his eyes went at Mrunal who nodded as excitement filled in her.

"Okayy!!" The rest agreed to and a circle was made out of their seating positions.

Yash was sitting to the left of Cabir and right of Rukmini, who was sitting beside the twins, Avneet, Mukti and Apurva. Manik was sitting just beside Apurva and beside him was Nandini with Navya, Mrunal and Arnav.

"So!! Bhabhi is the chief guest and she shall start!" Cabir winked at Manik who glared and Rukmini opened the bottle of coke.

"No LIES!! PROMISE EVERYONE??" Avneet said and everyone giggled muttering Promise.

"Never have I ever cheated in an exam!" Everyone sipped the coke while the duo, MaNan pouted.

"Argh! Nandini is so boring that once while asking for a question in Class 9,she bluntly said NO and after the test literally gave me a big lecture on not cheating and all!" Nandini hit Navya while everyone giggled and Manik adored the little talent he was getting in, as his wife.

"Haa!! You know Jeejz! Di always mera bag check karti thi before an exam just to see if I am carrying any chits and all!" Mrunal laughed it off to which Nandini spoke, embarrassed "Nahi Manik.. Yeh jhoot bol rahe hai!"

"Arrey nahi nahi! I agree with you Nandini.. We should not cheat!" Cabir gave a teasing look when Rukmini said "Okay baba!! No fights!! Next, Manik!!"

"Ahaan! Never have I ever... Broken something at someone's house and didn't tell them." All giggled and shares drinks.

"Never have I ever kissed anyone..!" Manik looked at Apurva who raised her brows "When did shy little baby grew up?" Apurva giggled "Bhaiya!! Sreelekha Maa keeps kissing me on cheeks and all!" Manik side hugged her and Nandini smiled.

"So drink na guys?" Yash said and winking at Rukmini, drank while MaNan too drank all to see raising brows at them.

"Arrey! Kiss toh sabne kiya hai, Maa ne Papa ne.. Humein I mean!" Manik smiled at the excuse given by Nandini who heaved a sigh of relief as the game continued.

Soon it was 3 am, and after a full fledged Antakshari, Arnav and Yash were arranging the gaddas for them to sleep when sneakily Manik took Nandini inside his room.

"Manik! Kya hua..!" She tried to say something when he kept his finger on her lips making her silent.

"Happy Diwali to you jaan!" He whispered against her ears and sat down making her wear the silver anklets he got for her. Nandini was so under his spell after listening to Jaan that she didn't even respond to what he was doing to her feet.



As he stood up, she looked at him and he softly pecked her lips making her come out of the spell and she looked at her feet which were playing some music in themselves.

"This is so beautiful Manik.. Thank you so much!!" He pulled her by waist and kissed her forehead "You are the light to my life!" She blushed and wrapped her arms around his back "Chaliye.. Sab intezaar karrahe honge!" He nodded and both walked upstairs to see the rest indulged in themselves, heaving a sigh of relief.

It was around 3:30 and all the youngsters were snoring to sleep. Manik opened his eyes at once and scanned his right hand and found all of them sleeping and smirked. Resting his body on his left palm, he caressed her hair a little to which she turned to him "Aap soye nahi?"

"Nahi, tum bhi nahi!" She fluttered her eyes and shook her head in a no, biting her lower lip eyeing their position. She was almost under him as he was very close to her.

"Agli Diwali special hogi na?" He asked closely to which she blushed "Yeh waali bhi thi bohot!"

"My first kiss!" He said smiling to which she again blushed "Mine too!"

"I have fallen in love with you..!" He spoke kissing her forehead to which she snaked her arms around his neck and waist and hugged him "Even I have fallen in love with you..!" He smiled and pulled her closer wrapping his arms around her and slept.

Thankfully, Nandini was an early riser so she woke up at first and moved away and no one could know what happened last night.
