CHAPTER 1: Ako si Zoey

Interviewer: Hello miss, we want to know you more and-
"Okay! Im Zoey Genesis Mercado. Kakagaling ko sa Korea pero purong Filipino ako. I was there for 4 years to accompany my father for our family business, mainly hotel and restaurant. Pero ayun na nga, nandito na ako sa Pilipinas for good.
Sa apat na taon ko doon, basic words and phrases lang ng Korean language ang alam ko. Mainly English sa school at Filipino sa bahay pa rin ang language namin. Contrary to popular belief, hindi ganon kadaling mag converse through Koreaan language lalo na magsulat ng hangul at lalo na kung hindi ka interesado.
Hindi parehas ang educational system sa Korea at sa Pilipinas pero sabi nila, sa Philippine terms whatsoever, 4th year High School na ako, graduating student.
Physically? Well, how do we say this, I think I'm okay. Above okay? I was a teen model back in Korea for GY Agency. But I wanted to start fresh here because I was bullied back then for being a Filipino model. It really ruined my self confidence. Apparently, if you don't have a small face and a white skin, you're not pretty. Laganap po kasi ang bullying doon. Its a very long story! Now, I plan to live a lowkey life here, away from the cameras and away from all the grand schemes. Thus, this ensemble. The perfect way to hide my identity.
Interviewer: Okay, actually I don't have any idea what you're saying and I don't know what you kids are up to these days but all I want to know are your expectations here in this school and how can we help you.
"I just want to live a normal, stress-free happy life. "
Nakakunot ang noo nang interviewer at ang director ng school na 'to sa mga sinasabi ko. How rude. Medyo naiintindihan ko kasi sa tanda niya mukhang wala naman na itong pakialam kung sino ako. Better actually. I think I'm gonna have a blast here.
