The Last Moon

Chapter 22: Alab

Halea's POV

After spending time with Rahul's family, I decided to go home. I am having a slight headache and told Rahul about it. I said my goodbye to his family and siblings and he brought me home. When I reached home I told my Mom about my headache and I went directly to my room to rest.

I can see Luna followed me in the room meowing as if asking me if I am okay.

"I'm fine Luna, I just needed to rest," she jumps to bed and I lay there and closed my eyes. I know I dozed off after a few minutes.

I felt like my mind travelled so many miles away and I saw myself running fast and there I saw before my eyes another demigod, he controls the fire from his hands and he plays in the mountains. I watch him as I rise in the evening and I can see how he makes the lava flows down the mountain. There he watches how the fire eats the land, the trees and other living creatures. In my curiosity, I went down to see him.

"Who are you?" I asked him and he then turns to me

"Halea," he calls me, "What brings you to my home, sister?"

"Sister?" he then laughs and speaks once again, "My apology, for not introducing my self but you see I was not named by our father and was thrown in the underworld and from there I found my way out here," and I saw how the fire suddenly retreated and cooled down so I continue to talk to him. 

"So what do you call yourself?"

"Why don't you give me a name?"

"I can see your playful nature and your fierce yet you're eyes tell a different story. I like your blue flame, it gives you that radiance which attracts me to come down here," I said, " I will call you 'Alab',"

"Alab, I like it," and the fire once again blazed, getting hotter. I can sense his excitement 

"How long have you been out here, Alab?"

And he turns to me once again, "Not long,"

"How did you know my name?"

"I heard the creatures and other being talks about you and the other goddess,"

"Why do you like to set the mountain in flames?"

"I can feel the humans, greediness and so I shake the ground but they do not care much, but when I release the lava from the volcano I can hear their fears and prayers,"

"How about the other living creatures that have nothing to do with humans, do you also want to punish them?" And then he stops.

"You are right, I might just be bored,"

"Why don't I show you around,"

My mind flew once again and like a movie I can see snapshots of Alab and me playing, training to fight, he goes back to the underworld from time to time and comes out some time to see me. I saw how he falls in love with a human and how we talked about her and how she died because of his flames. And for the longest time, he never came out of that mountain.

I can feel the loneliness in me when I didn't see him, I can sense him sometimes but he never came out to play or train. 

I can feel my body burning hot, that same feeling when I first saw Alab that same feeling when he is excited and cannot control his flames. My mind wonders once again, this time my eyes is searching for him. I can sense him somewhere near. And like a ghost, I saw him once again, but this time I can feel his pain. I love closer to touch him and to my astonishment, his flame just dances in the air it is not as hot as before. And to help him from his agony, I embraced him, how I missed him and his pain slowly disappear but then he also fades. I sense very strong force pulling me back and like a vortex and once again I am back in my bed. I feel Luna waking me up, nudging my face and lying on my neck.

I had a strange dream again what could it mean? My headache was gone but I feel my face sweating from that dream.

Matthews POV

We were all waiting for Caleb to transform, I've seen his father transformed before and how he emits this very strong aura even without the Alpha voice we fear him as well as the Luna. Though we were different from them we remain to be in the same pact. I had my wolf a few months ago and has been in training most of the time. I am lucky to be friends with Caleb's and I know he would be a good Alpha like his father. 

After the elder finishes his story and when the moon came out, we saw Caleb's struggle to transform and in a few minutes, he did. His wolf was big and it has the midnight-blue fur and we can see how his fur moves like a flame. And I heard him scream in agony and in a few seconds, he was back to being Caleb again and he fainted,

I ran toward him, but Elder Lucas already holds him. I heard him talked to the Alpha.

"You must lead the run for the new wolf," Lucas told the Alpha, "I will take care of him"

The Alpha then looked at me and instructed me to follow, I immediately shift to my wolf form and howl for the rest of the pack to follow.

I can see Caleb's father run in his 2 feet them starting to run like a cheetah using both arm and legs. Howling at the full moon we reached the peak of the mountain, then we roam trailing the territory line. 

Amelia's POV

My family is the assigned healers for the Thalons pack, my father is a wolf while my Mom is a Shaman. When Caleb passed out, they brought him directly to us to check. I saw how my mother took care of him, he checks every possibility of what might have happened to him.

"Amelia, come help me," my Mom

I went close and she gave me a roll of bandage and she held my hand, "Amelia focused"she said and when I held Caleb, very strong energy went through my body that I have to grasp my Mom's hand tighter. I felt a very hot electric flow uninterruptedly I saw flashes of scenes in my mind. And the words come out from my mouth.

"The guardian of the underworld must come home along with the flame and the bearer of the moonlight, he will be judged if he deserved to continue the task or to fully come home,"

And I felt the energy left my body along with my memory.
