The Once Rejected Luna

Anger

The snow fell heavily, blanketing the ground outside. The wind whipped beside the SUV as it moved passed the scenery. Anger filled my body, filled my very being.

So close. I was so very close to having him. I closed my eyes remembering the moment.

I shifted screaming out after Mark. “Come get me!” I watched as his second in command dragged him way to prevent the fall of their false alpha. I started to run after him not wanting to let this opportunity slip from my grasp. I needed this moment. I needed all of this to end! Theon came from up behind me and grabbed ahold of me. I screamed out in anger for him to let me go. To set me free. I begged him to let me finish Mark off.

I couldn’t hear his words. No. Not that I couldn’t hear, but that my mind wouldn’t let me. All I thought of in that moment was ending Mark’s life.

I opened my eyes, in that moment as I heard knox call out that we had arrived back to the pack house. I could feel Theon’s gaze on me as I turned to look at him. He spoke up. “You should see the pack doctor. You were injured.” I got up not saying a word and did as I was told. My body moved on it’s own. I don’t know what Theon expected from me. I could hear him sigh knowing that I was angry. He knew I was pissed that I wasn’t able to get Mark. That he stopped me from doing the one thing that could of ended this all.

I got to the pack doctor’s office and walked through the door. “Luna!” I heard a voice from around the corner. “Please right this way and we’ll get you looked over.” The pack doctor seemed a little unease for a moment.

He got right to work stitching up the deeper wounds to help them heal faster. He looked over a few of the ones already healed to ensure they were fine. He seemed to be frowning a bit. Something was off and it was starting to drive me insane. “Doctor Prismswell. If you could reframe from making that face it would be great.” He looked up at me shockingly. “I’m sorry Luna, it just seems you and Alpha Theon have been so stressed about everything else that you haven’t noticed that um…” he paused a moment as if unsure on how to answer.

A few minutes passed as I snapped. “Noticed what?!” He flinched and looked up “you are with child.” I froze. I’m pregnant? I’ve been so busy with everything else that I haven’t even noticed. I looked at the Dr.Prismswell. “How far along?” He gulped a bit. “Almost a month along..” A month? That means my baby will be here in 4 months. I have 4 months to get ready. She-wolves didn’t carry like normal human mothers. Our pregnancy terms were shorter. For a normal she-wolf it’s about 6 to 7 months, for a beta it’s about 5 to 6 months and for an alpha it’s 5 months.

My brain couldn’t process what was happening until Dr.Prismswell spoke up. “Would you like me to let Alpha Theon know or would you like to?” I looked up at him and spoke up. “I’ll do it, it’s fine.” He nodded before speaking again. “You are all set to head out everything seems fine and normal. Your wounds will heal up nicely.” I was still stunned from the news as I walked out of the office and back to mine and Theon’s home.

As I approached I saw Theon waiting outside. “Jade?” I knew he saw the look on my face, I knew he saw the concern as I came closer and closer. “Baby what’s wrong?” He came up to me looking me over “I have something to tell you.” He looked at me a bit confused. “We’re going to be parents in 4 months.” The same shock that was on my face was now on his. “You mean?” I nodded. Then his shock became anger. “So you mean that if Mark killed you he would of killed not only my mate but my unborn child?!” He looked down at me fuming. “He wasn’t going to kill me.” I said in a bit of anger. “He almost did.” I rolled my eyes and pushed passed him. “Right now I have not only a baby to worry about but when I can get another chance at killing Mark.” I could feel his anger pouring off of him. His next words though would be a slap to the face. “No. You’re done hunting him.” I stopped and turned to look at him. “Excuse me?” He puffed up like all Alpha’s do when challenged. “You’re not hunting him. You’re not going to put yourself in harm’s way anymore.” I stepped up to him with venom in my words. “Who are you to tell me that I can’t hunt down the very man who wants me dead? Who wants to use me then kill me.”

Theon narrowed his eyes down at me and with his Alpha tone he did the one thing I never thought he would do. “I forbid you from ever hunting Mark down even after giving birth to our child. You will be a mother and act as one.” I stared at him in disbelief, before turning and walking away.

I could feel his remorse but I would and will make me regret using that tone on me. I had the maids make up a room for me away from Theon. I wasn’t going to be near the man who so willing used his Alpha status against me, his wife.

I sat in the large room and curled up on the big empty bed. I was tired and exhausted. I was hurting from the betrayal I felt. A light knock came at the door but I refused to answer. I could smell it was Theon. He was acting like a hurting pup who couldn’t get his favorite toy. “My love, please. I’m sorry. I had too. I knew you wouldn’t stop if I didn’t use my Alpha tone.” I laid there not saying a word. This was on him now, but I would kill Mark. With or without his alpha command in place.
