Lyra was once the perfect Luna—loyal, graceful, and deeply devoted to her Alpha mate, Kael. But after tragedy strikes the Black Hollow Pack, Kael brings his brother’s widow and her pup into their home, slowly pushing Lyra aside until she becomes nothing more than a ghost in her own kingdom.

Humiliated, unwanted, and betrayed by the mate destined to love her, Lyra’s world changes the moment she catches the attention of the ruthless rival Alpha, Darius—the feared Lycan King whose dark obsession burns hotter than fate itself.

When forbidden desire ignites between them, Lyra discovers she is no ordinary Luna. Marked by the Moon Goddess with ancient power, she is the long-forgotten Blessed Luna—a female destined to heal kingdoms, awaken curses, and either save the wolf world… or destroy it.

But as jealous Alphas clash, hidden prophecies unfold, and a monstrous Blood King rises from the shadows, Lyra is forced to choose between the mate who broke her heart and the King willing to burn the world for her.

In a world ruled by blood, betrayal, and moonlit destiny, can a forgotten Luna rise powerful enough to become a legend?

Chapter 1 – The Widow in the Alpha House
The Black Hollow Pack House had never felt so cold. Rain poured endlessly beyond the towering windows, the sound echoing through the massive stone halls like mourning drums from the Moon Goddess herself. Servants walked quietly with their heads lowered, avoiding eye contact as though grief alone could shatter the surrounding walls. Luna Lyra stood at the top of the grand staircase in silence, her fingers tightening around the silver railing. Below her, warriors carried the last of the funeral offerings into the great hall. Candles. White roses. Bloodwine. Everything smelled of death. Her gaze drifted toward the center of the hall where Alpha Kael stood beside a woman dressed entirely in black. Selene. The widow of Kael’s younger brother. A small infant rested in Selene’s arms, wrapped in dark furs while she cried softly against Kael’s shoulder. Kael held her carefully, protectively, as though she might break apart if he let go. Lyra’s chest tightened painfully. For three days, Kael had barely spoken to her. Three days since his brother’s body had been returned from the northern border. Three days since Selene entered their home. “Luna?” Lyra blinked and turned toward the elderly maid standing behind her. “Your dinner has been prepared,” the woman said gently. “I’m not hungry.” The maid hesitated before lowering her voice. “The pack members are beginning to gather in the hall. Alpha Kael requested your presence.” Of course he did. The perfect Luna was always expected to stand beside her Alpha. Even when she felt invisible. Lyra straightened her shoulders and descended the staircase slowly, the silver embroidery of her dark gown shimmering beneath the candlelight. The moment she entered the hall, conversations quieted. Pack members bowed respectfully. “Luna Lyra.” “Good evening, Luna.” “You look beautiful tonight.” She smiled politely at each greeting because that was what a Luna was supposed to do. Graceful. Elegant. Untouchable. But as she approached the center of the hall, she noticed something strange. No one stood beside her chair. Kael’s attention remained entirely on Selene and the child. The infant whimpered softly, and Kael immediately took him into his arms. “There now,” Kael murmured gently. “You’re safe.” The tenderness in his voice startled Lyra. Kael rarely spoke that softly. Not even to her anymore. Selene wiped tears from her pale cheeks. “I’m sorry… he hasn’t slept since the funeral.” Kael’s expression softened further. “None of this is your fault.” Lyra stopped a few feet away, waiting for Kael to acknowledge her. He didn’t. One of the elders finally cleared his throat awkwardly. “Luna Lyra has arrived.” Kael glanced up briefly. “You’re late.” The words struck harder than they should have. Lyra stared at him for a moment before quietly taking her seat beside him. “I was preparing for the gathering,” she replied calmly. Selene immediately lowered her head. “I apologize if I’ve caused trouble. I know my presence here is difficult—” “You are family,” Kael interrupted firmly. “No one will treat you otherwise.” Something flickered behind the elder wolves seated nearby. Approval. Sympathy. Admiration. Lyra suddenly felt like an outsider at her own table. Dinner began shortly after. Conversations filled the hall, but every topic somehow returned to Selene’s tragedy. “The poor thing…” “She’s so young to lose her mate.” “And the child without a father…” Lyra pushed food around her plate without eating. Across from her, Selene adjusted the infant carefully while Kael helped arrange blankets around the baby. “You’re holding him wrong,” Kael muttered gently. Selene laughed weakly through her tears. “Then help me.” Kael moved closer behind her chair, his large hands covering hers as he repositioned the child. The sight twisted something ugly inside Lyra’s chest. Not because it was improper. But because it looked natural. Too natural. One of the female elders suddenly smiled toward Kael. “The child resembles you, Alpha.” A few wolves chuckled softly. Kael didn’t laugh. Instead, his gaze lingered on the infant with unexpected warmth. “He’s blood of my blood,” he said quietly. “I will protect him as my own.” The words echoed through the hall. As my own. Lyra lowered her gaze to her untouched wine. She and Kael had been mated for five years. Five years without an heir. The whispers had started long ago. Maybe the Luna is barren. Maybe the Moon Goddess rejected their union. Maybe Alpha Kael deserves another mate. She had endured all of it in silence. But tonight felt different. Tonight, the pack finally had something else to look at. Someone else to love. “Lyra.” Kael’s voice pulled her from her thoughts. She looked up. “Selene and the child will remain in the eastern wing permanently,” he announced. “Make sure the servants prepare everything they need.” Not we decided. Not what do you think? A command. In front of everyone. Lyra held his gaze carefully. “Of course, Alpha.” Kael frowned slightly at her cold tone, but before he could respond, the infant began crying again. Selene looked exhausted. “I’m sorry,” she whispered shakily. “I haven’t slept properly in days.” Kael immediately stood. “You should rest.” “But the gathering—” “It’s over.” His voice left no room for argument. Kael gently took the child from her arms while guiding Selene toward the staircase. Several pack members watched with approving smiles. “What a generous Alpha.” “The Moon Goddess blessed Black Hollow with a compassionate leader.” Lyra sat frozen in her chair as Kael carried another woman’s child through their home. He didn’t look back once. — Hours later, Lyra stood alone on the balcony outside her chambers. Rain mist clung to her skin as cold wind swept through the mountains surrounding Black Hollow territory. Usually, Kael would have joined her by now. Usually, he would wrap his arms around her waist and tease her for standing barefoot in the cold. Usually. Tonight, she was alone. The balcony doors opened quietly behind her. For a brief moment, hope sparked inside her chest. But it vanished instantly when she saw Kael’s tired expression. “You’re still awake,” he said. Lyra turned back toward the forest. “I could say the same.” Kael loosened the collar of his dark shirt. “Selene finally managed to get the child to sleep.” Silence stretched between them. Then Kael sighed heavily. “She’s struggling, Lyra.” “I know.” “She lost her mate.” Lyra’s lips pressed into a thin line. “And I lost my husband three days ago,” she whispered before she could stop herself. Kael stiffened. “What is that supposed to mean?” “It means you haven’t looked at me since she arrived.” “That’s unfair.” “Is it?” Kael’s jaw tightened as rain thundered around them. “She’s alone,” he snapped. “My brother is dead. What exactly do you expect me to do?” “I expect my mate to remember I exist.” The words hung sharply in the air. For the first time that night, Kael actually looked at her. Really looked at her. And for a second, Lyra saw guilt flicker in his dark eyes. But it disappeared almost immediately. “You’re stronger than her,” he said quietly. The answer hurt more than anger would have. Because he truly believed it justified everything. Lyra laughed softly, though there was no humor in the sound. “So that’s what this is?” she murmured. “You think I need less because I survive quietly?” Kael rubbed a hand over his face in frustration. “I don’t want to fight tonight.” “Neither do I.” He stepped closer, lowering his voice. “You’re still my Luna.” But the words felt empty now. Distant. Like something spoken out of obligation rather than love. Lyra stared at the rain-covered mountains beyond the balcony. For the first time in years, she wondered what it would feel like to stop being strong. To stop being patient. To stop waiting for someone to choose her first. Behind her, Kael exhaled heavily. “I’ll sleep in the eastern wing tonight,” he said. “The child keeps waking.” There it was again. That sharp ache in her chest. Not because he chose duty. But because he didn’t even hesitate. Lyra nodded once. “Goodnight, Alpha.” Kael stared at her for several long seconds, as though he wanted to say something else. Instead, he turned and walked away. The doors closed softly behind him. And beneath the cold silver light of the moon, Luna Lyra finally realized she was completely alone.
