Chapter 30: Missing children (Part 7)

We arrived at the gate of the city and looking at the gate the guard was fast asleep. But after walking and having a closer look the guard was tied up and was beaten up. His face was swollen.
“That guard was with the kidnappers. He knows that the crime is happening and is just letting them go. Kuro deals with him and beats him… That why we’re late.”
Taki said.
That man Kuro sure is Strong-looking still I was curious about his fight with the white girl. Knowing that Kuro can top the speed of the light sword was making me more curious about the battle.
After leaving the kids to the guild with Taki and Yumi.
“Sorry Taki, Yumi… But I have to go. I want to watch the battle between Kuro and the white girl… I want to see them fight and learn something from them.”
“I wanted to see the fight too. I want to learn about the Ki. It’s something that I might able to use in the future since I have less magic than normal people.”
Yumi said and look toward Taki.
“You two are really going to put yourselves in trouble you know. It’s way too dangerous. The opponent was a light magic user. Both of you might get caught up in the battle and die… I hate to say this, but we’re still young. Let’s enjoy being young.”
Taki tried to convince us.
Yumi and I look away at Taki with a pouted angry face.
Taki gives us cold eyes and shook her head.
“I’m just worried about both of you…”
“Yeah, but still… My killing instinct was moving in my body. I have a gut feeling that I’m able to learn something from their fight.”
“Killing instinct?! Hey Yumi you’re smile is getting creepy you’re scaring the kids… Hey, Laura, you understand what I’m saying right? Unlike this Psycho girl.”
“Learning how to fight is crucial to my survival. I will definitely have to get stronger if I want to travel the world. I must grow and learn… I’ll be going outside Taki.”
I said and leave out on the guild.
Taki tried to reach me with her hand but it was useless. Yumi disappeared beside Taki and the moment I turned my head beside me. Yumi is already beside me running with me.
We hurried and go out of the city heading straight to the mountainside. The battle between Kuro and the white girl is taking place.
“Hey! Hey! Wait for me!”
Behind us, the girl with a weird-looking hat and bell arrived.
“... I can’t let both of you go in this trouble alone. I don’t want to lose friends you know.”
Yumi after hearing that shed tears and put her hands on her mouth. She looks toward Taki with teary eyes. Her heart was moved by what Taki said to her.
“I see… You finally admit that we’re friends…”
“You’re so creepy stop that.”
“That doesn’t matter we are friends now… I have two friends now. I can have both of my sides occupied when I sleep someday.”
I don’t know what she’s thinking, but I have a feeling that’s something weird.
The three of us then go to the mountainside. Arriving o the location where we left the man named Kuro.
The battle between him and the white girl was ongoing. The white girl constantly showers Kuro with her light magic. While Kuro uses his high-speed gunshots to intercept the light magic with his bullets.
“To be able to compete in the speed of my magic. You’re something else. You have my praise… But I wonder if you can dodge this one…”
The white girl disappeared from the ground she’s standing and reappeared behind Kuro. She put her palm on Kuro and from her hand, a light beam emerges.
Kuro turns on his back and avoided the beam of light. Stepping forward to the white girl he grabbed her arm.
“Don’t touch my body!”
The white girl fires another beam of light from her hand toward Kuro. Kuro dodge immediately and retreated with a backstep.
“You’re eye’s looks emotionless… But there was no denying that you’re still a girl. I will say my apology right now, I have might hurt your body or put some injury on you. It's my job to capture criminals like you after all.”
Kuro said and from his back, he pulled a grenade. He throws immediately and toward the white girl.
The bomb exploded in a flash of light.
Flashbomb?! The light was blinding.
I put my hand on my eyes to protect myself. Yumi and Taki did the same.
After the light disappeared The white girl looks astonished and stunned. With her eye’s closed she can’t see anything.
Kuro then runs toward the white girl to capture her.
“Light magic: Light swords!”
The white girl can still fight despite her condition. She has trouble seeing because of the flash bomb. She put some distance between her and Kuro.
“Using presence to detect enemies… You’re a skilled adventurer.”
Kuro reloaded his g*n and pointed toward the white girl.
“... But I guess you won’t be able to detect this one... Black shot!”
A black spark launches from Kuro’s g*n and pierces through the white girl's left arm.
I see, presence detection only applied to the things with life. Anything Non-living things don’t have a presence. With the white girl being not able to see properly she can’t counter or dodge the bullet.
“Kuro is being mean to the white girl I feel bad for her.”
Taki said.
“Presence detection and speed. I might be able to use this in my future fight.”
“I’m quite disappointed in the battle. I’ma sword user. I can’t pick up anything useful at all. The fight was so fast I can see a thing. Especially when the white girl is using her light magic.”
I already know how to use presence detection. Koyuki taught me before. I wanted to see something that was great…
While thinking that the white girl then. Released an abnormal presence.
I don’t know what it was but it was so sinister I don’t want to look at her directly. Just feeling it makes me feel cold and tremble in fear… Just what is this feeling anyway?
“I feel like running. I’m not going to fight something that dangerous.”
“Yeah, That sinister level is in rival with my big sis Yuri… I feel like her presence is just near me.”
Yumi hugs herself and shivers.
“I underestimated you for a bit… But I’m starting to see that you're not just a horrible man. You're a strong horrible man.”
“Horrible this… Horrible that… Just do you have anything to say but horrible in your mouth? Give me a break already… I know that you're not an ordinary adventurer after relieving that willpower earlier. You know how o do it right, the most advanced technique in magic.”
The most advanced technique in magic.
It caught my interest and listen carefully.
“... You’re an ability user aren’t you.”
Ability? I know magic and Skill but what is ability? How is it different from Magic?
My curiosity is getting running. This is the thing that I’m waiting for.
Taki then turned her glance on me and said:
“Ability-user it’s the most advance in the magic. I don’t know much but it’s said that only selected people taught to use it. Ability users are dangerous it defies the magic level system. My master said that a level 1 ability user has a chance of defeating a level 100 magic-user.”
“It’s that powerful?”
“Yeah, it’s that powerful. That’s the main reason I came to travel and was given this task to defeat monsters. Master wanted me to defeat 20 monsters… And promised me to teach me the basics of ability.”
“Ability user? Like my big sis Yuri…”
“You’re sister is ability user…”
“That’s right, she has a dangerous ability called “t*****e box” Jus like what Taki said. It truly defies logic like magic but in a much creative way.”
Hearing them, I feel like I have many things to learn in this world. Looking at the human empire map. I’m still on the journey with three cities. If I wanted to travel the world I have still ways to go to do that.
“If you’re an ability user then your not a fully bad person. Abilities are taught toward trustworthy people by the teachers after all. Only the ability users are the people able to go across the dark territory and beyond.”
“Those days of innocence… I still dream of that day… But the world was taken away the most important thing in this world for me. I became miserable…”
The pierced arm of the white girl was healed as nothing happened. She recovered her blindness and able to see Kuro.
Looks like the battle will continue for a long time. I wonder who will win. No, I much interested in their ability. What kind of ability the white girl has and can Kuro use Ability?
I wanted to find out.
“You’re taking too long? I thought you’re already dead.”
Someone make an appearance and confront the white girl.
“Another opponent... This is really horrible.”
“Are you the one who kidnapped the kids?”
“She’s not she’s just someone who with the kidnappers. I still don’t know her motive and goals, but I’m sure she is a criminal… Also, you need to be careful she’s a light magic-user and an ability user.”
Kuro said.
“It’s master Karyll… That is my master.”
Taki said.
Karyll just like her description said. She has cat-like ears and tails. Her skin is porcelain white and she looks very cute. A State Knight that was feared by many.
Remembering the kidnappers earlier was very terrified while describing her power.
Rau of sun illuminated my face and without noticing the sun started to rise.
“It’s time…”
“Huh? Are you scared?!”
Karyll yelled at the white girl.
“Unfortunately, I’m not able to go outside because of the sun, but someday. We might face again.”
With a ray of light, the white girl disappeared.
After the white girl left, Karyll turned her head toward the bushes where we are all hiding and glared.
“Just what are you doing in those bushes Taki?”
Taki pop-up from the bushes and scratch her head.
“Well, I was with my friends and we are watching the fight.”
Yumi and I then leap out on the bushes and then with our voice we bow down toward Karyll.
“Can you teach me?!”
Yumi and I asked Karyll.
“Huh?!”
