Lunette POV
“Mate.” The words alone shocked me to my core.
“Well where are you going, little mate?” He asks.
“I-I..”
“Go back. That’s our mate.” Enora says. But the idea of going back to that pack just doesn’t sit right with me.
“Come on back. Why are you out here anyways?” He asks.
I shake my head. But it’s too late. The other alphas have already caught up to us.
“Alpha, do you know this woman?” One of them asks. Then the gate is opened.
In seconds he’s in front of me, the alpha aura of his pouring into the clearing around us. Goddess, I’ve never felt anything like it before.
“No, but I will.” He replies.
Before anyone can say anything, the pack alpha has arrived. Our eyes meet and I can see he’s more than angry.
He stomps over to me, grabbing my arm and yanking me toward him.
“Just what do you think-“
His words are cut short by my mate, who’s growling like I’ve never heard before. Angry and possessive.
“Take your hands off my mate.” He snaps.
Alpha Blake’s eye nearly pop out of his head. “M-mate?” He lets go of me instantly.
“Yes, my mate. MINE.” The man in front of me says.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Silas. I didn’t realize..”
Alpha Silas.. hmm. That name is vaguely familiar.
“You should do well to keep your hands to yourself from now on. Especially on your pack members.”
“Oh she’s not-“ he stops himself from saying anything further.
Yeah, I was never sworn into the pack. So technically, I’m a lone wolf. Or a rogue. But I don’t have rogue abilities so there’s that. Never understood why. My entire pack was mutilated.
“Not what? Not a pack member?” Silas, my mate asks. He looks incredibly confused.
“She is a lone wolf.” Alpha Blake says.
“She’s not rogue though. So she belongs to a pack. What pack?”
“Uh.. Blackwater.. I think.”
“She was never sworn into your pack after killing her alpha and taking over?” Silas asks, his eyes widening.
“I-I..” alpha Blake has no idea what to say that won’t get him looked at like a bad Alpha.
“I see.” Silas says, then turns back to me.
“Come back with me for the night. We will leave in the morning after the meeting. That’ll give you more time to gather more of your things..” he says, looking at the small backpack lying behind me on the ground.
Little does he know that IS all of my things.
Before I can even reach for the bag he’s in front of me grabbing it and tossing it over his shoulder.
“Such a gentleman.” Enora purrs causing me to roll my eyes.
“What?” Silas asks. I shake my head.
“Nothing.. nothing..” I say.
He starts to walk off but before he gets too far he grabs my hand. Tingles shoot through my fingers and palm, all the way up my arm.
I don’t argue but I sure don’t want to hold his hand. I don’t trust him. I don’t even know him. Only his name and that he’s an alpha.
As we walk back to the packhouse, I notice eyes on me. I don’t like it so much so I lower my head and look at the ground. I’ve never much liked attention.
I’ve never much liked being looked at.
They all start walking back into the dining hall and I pause, pulling Silas’ arm ever so slightly.
“What?” He asks.
“I’m not going in there.” I say as i look up at him.. dark eyes.. dark hair.. sharp jawline.. jeez Lunette, calm down.
“You’re not leaving my side.” He says as he gives me a daring look.
I shake my head. Nope, nope, nope. Don’t look at me like that.
“Let me go back to my room. I’ll be there.” I say, hoping he’ll take that and let me be in my own for a while.
Now it’s his turn to shake his head. D*mnit
“No. You’ll run off again. You’re coming with me. You can take my betas seat. I’m sure he won’t mind.” He replies.
Before I can say anything he tugs me into the dining room and over to a guy sitting in a seat next to the head of the table.
“Apollo. This is my mate. Let her have your seat. You go party or something.” Silas says.
Apollo actually looks quite excited about this and stands up quickly.
“Mate? Hell yeah! I was getting bored out of my mind just sitting here anyways. Here ya go little lady.” He says.
He stands up and leaves his seat pulled out for me. Silas makes me sit and outs a plate in front of me.
“Nice to meet you. Bet you’re excited to be the Alpha Kings mate.” He says with a smile.
A-alpha kings mate????????
What????????
“You said what now?” I ask, but he’s too busy running off to go join in on the fun outside.
I look at Silas and it all starts to make sense.
Tall and bulky, like an alpha.. but bigger. His aura.. is insanely intense.
He looks at me with dark brown eyes and I find myself nearly melting in my chair. D*mned mate bond..
“What?” He asks.
“Alpha.. king?” I ask.
The corner of his mouth twitches just barely, almost into a smile.
“That’s me, little mate. Silas Droganov, the Aloha king.” He says, then takes his seat at the head of the table.
Goddess help me.. the Alpha king is my mate?
