Anna stayed in her room the whole day. She would sigh and curse occasionally.
“Suitable enough to carry the Pierce name?”
She scoffed.
“That's bullshit. What am I ?”
“A liability?”
She got up from her bed. It was already nine in the evening and she hadn't eaten.
She walked down to the kitchen to get something to eat. As she stepped in, she bumped into him.
“Finally hungry?” He asked, arched his brows and walked away.
Anna inwardly cursed.
“That fool. What does he feel like?”
She warmed some milk and was about to head back to her room, when he spoke from behind her.
“After refusing to eat the whole day, that's what you go for?” He asked casually.
She slowly turned to look at him.
“You used the word “refusing” like I was offered food and I declined.
She walked past him
“Learn how to use your words well, young man.”
He raised a brow and watched her leave.
She didn't go to her room instead she went to the balcony to get fresh air.
“ Refusing? To hell with all of them.”
She rubbed her forehead
“How can someone get so angry this much? My head aches.”
The cool breeze of the night did little to ease her brain splitting headache.
She stared blankly at the cup of milk in her hand.
No thoughts even ran across.
Like they were all afraid of the headache she was experiencing.
“Tsk. To hell with all of them.”
She gulped down the cup of milk and set the cup on the little table beside her.
“They would have just let me continue working at the hospital. It's not like I complained.”
She exhaled slightly.
“I just wasted my time going to school then. Cause what do you mean by "I can't use it because of some marriage…..”
She got up quickly ignoring the pounding in her head.
“ Not suitable enough, you say? Alright.”
A wide grin settled on her face.
“Time to truly be the liability you want.”
She picked her cellphone and called someone.
“Meet me tomorrow by 12 pm. I have finally considered your offer.”
