26 On Monday morning, Paul looked at his appointment diary for the week. Such a relief to have a normal week ahead of him after the last month with his mother’s heart attack, the funeral, and dealing with her estate. Then the snowshoeing trip, Ben being hauled up in front of the principal, and now his father coming back from the dead. He’d barely had a moment to catch his breath. A five-day week of ordinary appointments would be just the thing. There wasn’t even a new patient listed. Almost unheard of, but it would be great to not have to deal with anyone’s tears or breakdowns. He’d had enough of those to last quite a while. He hadn’t cried at his mother’s funeral. He’d never been emotional, so he wasn’t overly surprised, but he’d cracked up at the airport yesterday. Talk about embarrass
