28 It was early Friday when Paul drove into the church carpark. He’d barely stopped the engine when Stuart exited the neighbouring house and walked towards him. Paul got out of the car. “Good morning. I wasn’t sure if you’d show up,” Stuart said. “Do people often stand you up?” Stuart grinned. “People have all sorts of preconceptions about pastors. I hope you soon work out we’re not aliens.” There was a muffled pounding on a door over in the house next to the carpark, and a shout. “Hurry up in there.” Stuart pointed his thumb towards the house. “See what I mean.” He led the way towards the back corner of the house. “We’ll be able to avoid the getting-ready-for-school chaos as my office has a separate entrance.” They passed through a gate into the back garden and entered the office.
