The spirits warning

409 Words
Lily, her heart pounding in her chest, stared at the shadowy figure. The Spirit of the Woods, as the witch had called it, stood silently, its presence filling the room with a palpable energy. "Who are you?" she asked again, her voice trembling slightly. The Spirit remained silent, its hooded head bowed. The air grew colder, and the shadows seemed to press in on her, whispering secrets she couldn't understand. The witch, her face etched with concern, stepped forward. "This is the Spirit of the Woods," she said. "He watches over this land, and he knows the secrets of the curse." Lily’s eyes widened. She’d heard whispers of the Spirit of the Woods, tales of a powerful entity that guarded the forest and protected its secrets. But she’d never imagined she would actually meet it. The Spirit finally lifted its head, revealing glowing eyes that pierced through the darkness. Its voice, a deep, resonant hum, echoed through the room. "The curse is strong," the Spirit said. "It binds the spirits to this land, and it corrupts the very heart of the woods. You must be careful, child. The witch's power is fading, and the darkness grows stronger." Lily’s heart sank. She’d known that breaking the curse wouldn't be easy, but the Spirit’s words filled her with a new sense of urgency. The darkness was growing, and the spirits were trapped. She had to act quickly. The Spirit continued, its voice filled with a sense of warning. "The witch's magic is not enough. You must find the source of the curse, the place where the witch's power was strongest. Only then can you break it." Lily’s eyes darted around the room, searching for clues. The witch’s lair was filled with strange objects and potions, but she couldn’t see anything that seemed to hold the key to breaking the curse. "Where is the source?" she asked, her voice filled with desperation. The Spirit’s eyes narrowed. "It is hidden deep within the woods," it said. "A place of ancient power, where the veil between the worlds is thin. But it is also a place of great danger. The witch's magic is strongest there, and the darkness is thick." Lily felt a chill run down her spine. She knew that the Spirit was right. The source of the curse was a dangerous place, but she had to find it. The fate of the woods, and the spirits trapped within it, depended on her.
