The road points north
I know you too well,
My welcome home overstayed
Now I at last leave.
Goodbye, beachside sun.
Goodbye, chaotic drama.
Goodbye, my family.
Panic when it rains,
Tremble when the wind cries out.
You don't worry me now.
Expensive housing,
Nobody stays forever,
And now I too leave.
Now a setting sun,
Before a deep crimson sky.
A paved path below.
A humming engine.
Music sooths my shivers.
Unstoppable charge.
Alone, it appears.
Don't let your eyes decieve you.
One-Eye rides with me.
A humble boarder,
Barely a sign stands erect.
Welcome to Georgia.
Woods, many trees stand guard.
Darkness consumes all else.
Hidden paths coil.
Where does this road lead?
No highway, no lights ahead.
Just trees and trailers.
A sign that reads "church."
Lit by a can of fire.
Onward I scramble.
Finally, some direction
A way out I can now see
Housing temporary.
A new, well-kept host
A larger house than before
At last, I can rest.
Also from outside,
But with two places to live.
Two lives this man leads.
A partner unknown.
False crimson, her standard tied.
Part of his new home.
Though not without dreams,
Wild scenes haunt my nights rest.
For what lies ahead?
