Chapter Two - Coen

Chapter Two – Coen It was a typical Friday night for Coen Blakesley and that meant fight night. Coen and a few other guys would fight outside the bar his brother owned. His brother’s wife didn’t approve, but she never stopped him, so he had turned it into a profitable side gig. He easily racked up $2000 plus dollars every weekend. He almost never lost, mostly due to him being a wolf. He healed faster than normal humans would, and his reflexes were exceptionally faster. In fact, the only times he lost is when he had a few too many to drink before the matches. Coen watched his opponent, trying hard to hide his smirk. He could have easily taken him out a few rounds ago, but the crowd that had gathered chanted for more. And who was he to deny the people of what they wanted? Scanning the crowd, he saw several new faces, and of course the faithful fans who watched every match. He wasn’t just scanning for adoring fans, but also for the girl he would be taking home that night. He never chose the same one twice. No strings, no attachment. Just s*x. Lots of f*****g s*x. People told him he took after his older brother, but Rowen wasn’t like that anymore. Rowen hadn’t been in the game for almost three years, not since he had met his mate, Alexandra. Coen didn’t mind too much, Rowen being off the market just meant he had more women to choose from. Getting bored and tired of drawing it out Coen delivered the final blow. Cheers exploded from the crowd just as his opponent landed on the ground. He would be lying if he said he didn’t love this part; his name being chanted like he had just won the National Championship. Walking around the crowd of people he high fived the men and winked at the women. Some of which he knew better than others. An arrogant grin was plastered on his face. He stopped in front of a girl he didn’t recognize. One he was certain he had never seen before. She was stunningly beautiful, and she looked so out of place. Her face was twisted with pity as she watched the man on the ground, concern oozing from her. It bothered him, seeing her green eyes on the other man instead of him. A sharp pang of jealousy got his attention. Why he f**k was he jealous? “You.” He said, pleased when the female’s eyes snapped to his. “You’re new here. I haven’t seen your face before.” He would have never forgotten her face if he had. She was unquestionably the hottest chick there. She looked a bit startled, surprised even, as she spoke. “I am... I mean I’m not new new... just this is my first time at this bar. It’s my birthday...” The girl stopped talking and instead bit down on her lip, which only caused an ache in his chest and his pants. “It’s your birthday? I would love to buy you a drink. You know to celebrate your birthday and my win. What did you think about the fight?” Coen flashed her a smug smile, a smile that let her know no one ever turned down a drink from him. “I umm... I am here with my friends. We already have drinks.” Coen watched her clearly amused by how she stammered over her words. “I... You were impressive but I can’t help to worry about him.” Her head nodded in the direction of his opponent who was just now starting to stand. “Nate? He’s fine. Nothing a few beers can’t fix.” He assured her, mostly because the girl looked like she was about to rush towards Nate to help him up. “Right... Okay. Sorry. I’m a nurse, I see blood and I just automatically feel the need to help.” He watched her eyes, her gorgeous eyes, and seen the moment she was finally convinced that Nathan would be fine. “So, since you have drinks, then how about a dance. It’s the least I can do. It is your birthday.” Coen was watching her now, giving her his full attention. The others around them seemed to fade away. “I’m Coen.” He didn’t tell her his last name. Everyone knew who the Blakesleys’ were and he liked picking up girls on his own, not with the help of his family name. “Ivy... I’m Ivy.” Ivy told him before biting down on that damn lip of hers again. “And I will think about the dance, tough guy. But for now, I need to be getting back to my friends. It was nice to meet you, Coen.” Coen watched as she walked off, a crooked grin on his face. He knew it wouldn’t be the last time he spoke to her tonight. He had chosen who he was taking home. And little Miss Ivy was the winner. Inside the bar the same crowd from outside had joined him. They were all cheering, and murmurs of the fight were being spread around as excited fans retold the story. Normally, Coen would have eaten up the attention and used it to land a girl for the night, but not this night. This night his eyes searched the bar for a green-eyed blonde who had captured his attention. Finally, he spotted her sitting with a group of girls. “Damn” he grumbled to himself when he saw one of the women with Ivy was his sister-in-law Alexandra. He knew she would never allow her friend to leave with him. She thought he was some type of man w***e who used women. Okay so maybe he was but the women always left satisfied and he’d never heard a single one of them complain. He knew Alexandra had hoped he would find a girl and settle down like Rowen had, but he wasn’t ready for that. He also knew that he would need to get Ivy away without Alexandra’s knowledge. “Ivy, it’s your turn to get the drinks.” Coen's ear perked up when he heard one of the women, talking to Ivy. He watched as she walked to the bar, knowing that his chance had finally come. “So how about that dance?” Coen leaned so he wouldn’t have to speak so loud over the music being played. His lips were next to her ear. “Excuse... Oh, it’s you. Coen, right?” He thought he saw something playful in her eyes, almost like she seemed to be teasing about not being sure of his name. “Yes. So how about that dance, Ivy?” Coen kept his voice calm like he asked girls to dance all the time. He did, but he’d never been unsure of the answer until asking her. She was biting her lip again. He was going to have fun with her later. “I can do that for you if you’d like.” He reached up and pulled her lip free. “Oh...” He heard her gasp, clearly not expecting him to do or say that. “I mean I guess you can have that dance. You did win, after all, tough guy.” Coen’s lips twitched in a smile at her little nickname for him. “Let’s go then.” Coen placed his hand on the lower part of her back and lead her through the sea of dancers. Once he found the best spot, away from his sister-in-law, Coen turned his full attention to the beautiful woman in front of him. His body swaying with hers as they moved together in rhythm to the music. His eyes drinking in everything about her. She was even more stunning inside under the lights. The bulge in his pants was proof of that. “You deserve a birthday kiss.” Coen's whisper was low, only meant for her ears. He pulled back to gauge her reaction. His d**k nearly leapt from his jeans when he saw her biting on her lip again. f**k me... He muttered inside his head. “So?” He could see different thoughts cross over her face, she was clearly one of those girls who wore hid their emotions poorly. After what seemed like minutes but in reality, was probably a second or two, she nodded her blonde little head. “Yes. You can kiss me. Very smooth, tough guy, using my birthday as a way to ask.” She had answered him with a smile pulling at her lips. Internally Coen rejoiced, outwardly he only offered her his best cocky smile before lowering his lips to hers. Soon his mouth was moving with hers, their tongues dancing against the other in a full blown make out session. His hands traveled down to her waist until he had her body pressed against his. “Do you want to get out of here?” Coen said roughly into the kiss, only pulling away so she would be able to think to answer. He watched her mental debate; her eyes really did tell all her secrets. “Let me just tell my friends, okay?” When she answered him, he only nodded and stepped back. “I’ll meet you outside,” Coen promised before walking towards the door. He ignored everyone else on his way out. He had found his victory prize already; he didn’t need anything else. He walked out to his car leaning against it waiting for his new favorite blonde to walk outside.
